Hello,
I am new to the whole programming scene and I just wanted to ask a simple question. I have been looking at various modifications people have made to their ROMs via hex editing, I was wondering how the games were actually programmed in the first place, does Gameboy have its own programming language? I have heard a little bit about ASM but all the examples I have seen for any modification of any original game include hex, would it not be easier to read the original source code and modify that? Is it something to do with it being encrypted or does no one know how it works?
Thank you for putting up with my basic knowledge. ( I posted this thread here because I did not want to put a basic topic on any official board)
