I know this is probably the most common moveset, but could someone give me a Garchomp moveset? Thx.

    Garchomp should have this

    Garchomp@leftover/life orb
    Adamant/Jolly
    252att 252speed 6hp
    -substitute/fire fang
    -sword dance
    -dragon claw
    -earthquake

that's the best garchomp. after sword dance dragon claw is just absolutely scary.

This does sound really really good but, I would like to keep a dark move on him like Crunch.

for the most part Dragon claw does a lot of neutral damage to a lot of pokemon.. if you were to put lifeorb and swords dance on him they would be dead so quick, specially if u subsituted him and did the swords dance he would be pretty untouchable..

I am looking to put a moveset on my garchomp I really like the one you posted but I really want a dark move like crunch along with swords dance, yet I want subsitute too and swords dance..

Earthquake, I already used the TM on my sceptile I know I can get another one at battle tower but I dont feel like spending the day in there to get enough points to get EQ..

    any input would be appreciated
    thanks..

You're out of luck dude. you say you want sword dance and substitute, then you have no room for crunch. if you give up substitute then you can actually fit fire fang in there for skarmory, but there's no room for crunch.

Why do you even need crunch? Dragon Claw gets stab and hits ghost types hard. Dragon+Ground/Fire covers all types of pokemon since only Steel types resist Dragon but steel types fall to ground. Skarmory, however, is resistant to ground which is why fire fang is an option on garchomp.

if you care more about having a "cool" moveset than a "good" moveset, then sure, use crunch, but as you stated in your original post, dragon claw already hits everything hard.

only reason I wanted crunch is to counter psychic... I feel like id be able to take out a mewtwo with one crunch..

    Edit::

    For now Ill probably do

    Substitute
    Swords Dance
    Dragon Claw
    Fire Fang

Earth quake would be valueable but I dont have a TM for it and until I get enough BP I will probably take out substitute.

    Garchomp @ Choice Band
    252 Attack/ 252 Speed/ 4 HP
    Jolly / Adamant.
    -OUTRAGE
    -Earthquake
    -Stone Edge
    -Fire Fang

earthquake is 100 base power, 100 accuracy, and gets STAB. you're going to want earthquake. with earthquake garchomp is one of the best metagross counters.

and what? who puts a garchomp against a mewtwo? mewtwo is uber.

if stealth rock is in play, i don't see how salamence stands a chance against garchomp. stealth rock ruins focus sash and hurts salamence pretty bad, so even after intimidate garchomp can still outspeed it and go for the KO with dragon claw. i guess you've been lucky you haven't run into stealth rock.

Choice Chomp is more efficient in sweeping. I mean Outrage, is only weak against steel, so that would be the best way to use him.

Thats because my spinner is also a physical wall. Forretress :3

well, if you can pull off rapid spin before you switch in salamence then good for you. garchomp is more OU than salamence in 4th gen with good reason, and stealth rock definitely plays a part. comparison aside though, garchomp is quite the beast.

choice chomp is really good but it's still walled by steel types. the sword dance set has its benefits. after a sword dance dragon claw is more powerful than a choice band outrage, and you still get the versatility to use other attacks should you choose to.

    Garchomp
    Item : Focus Sash
    Moves:
    Outrage
    Swords Dance
    Earthquake
    Stone Edge

Make sure you runa Rapid-Spinner with this moveset

I found out that FIre Fang deals almost the same damage as a STABBED Outrage >.>

Fire Fang will always do squat to Skarmory, even after a Swords Dance. Samson introduced me to this moveset, and it happens to be one of the best:

    Garchomp @ Life Orb/Leftovers
    Naive Nature (+Speed, -SpDef)
    EVs: 252 Attack, 252 Speed, 6 Attack
    - Earthquake
    - Dragon Claw/Outrage
    - Swords Dance
    - Fire Blast

Most Special attacks Garchomp doesn't resist will put a hefty dent in him either way (and any decent Ice attack will OHKO him), so Naive gives him the max Speed to outrun things he needs to, like Jolly Electivire, and allows you to get the full potential of Fire Blast, which is basically a 2KO against Skarmory.

I wouldn't totally recommend Outrage, since Swords Dance gives it the same, if not more power, minus the confusion. Without Fire Blast, Skarmory walls him no matter what, even with Fire Fang. If Skarmory is down to about 50% HP, Fire Blast from this bad boy will likely KO. Oh, and Fire Blast also takes care of Tangrowth, who I've been finding extremely annoying lately, and would otherwise take damage from Garchomp without a problem.

And coming from a guy who uses Skarmory, this moveset scares me, because Garchomp threatens to sweep at any given time. After a single Swords Dance, Earthquake is an OHKO on Blissey, and everyone knows how truly difficult it is to completely OHKO Blissey like that without a Fighting attack.

    1. Why a Focus Sash?

    2. How exactly does a Fire Fang, an attack of a base power of 65, deal the same damage as Outrage, which has a base power of 120 before applying the STAB.

Fire Blast is a special move man....

Did you even read what he said? Fire Blast is the most basic Skarmory counter.

whats it gonna do, if you got all your ev's in attack and none in special?

I just finished my garchomp it maxed out at 340 attack and like 180 special (then again I have jolly nature)
I dont think I am gonna put fire blast on him...
