4th Gen Gastly or Chansey???

Okay so im a noob. I have 5 badges at this point with about 5 solid pokes. I got a monferno, murkrow, kadabra, machoke, and then I am working on beefing up a gyrados. My issue is my 6th poke. I have a lv22 gastley and a lv20 chansey that I caught a while back. Looking at my Gastley, the kadabra and murkrow do similar things to an extent. The chansey, though basically impossible getting it to level up, has good health and could be deadly in the long run. The Gasltey though ofcourse could potentially become a gengar... So I am just having some trouble figuring out which would be best in my situation...

also how do I evolve the murkrow? I think I need a stone but just curoius on where I find it...

Hmmm... Machamp and Gyarados aren't the best in the world. I'd say you could get rid of Machoke and put in Ghastly, and also add Chansey. I will always advocate Chansey use (Chansey evolves into Blissey, the best Special Wall in the game), so no matter what you do, go with Chansey. Not a good attacker (although she can pack a punch with Special Attacks), but that thing can absorb Special Hits like you wouldn't believe.

Wow... Really? Of my top 4, my machoke is the weakest. So it is possible... I like that idea. Is it worth giving up on the machoke now, since I am about a minute away from teh 6th badge? Also when does the Chansey evolve?


Again, how do I evolve my favorite murkrow?!

I warn you though, with the new P/S split in D/P, there are a lot more physical attacks out there, many of which can OHKO even a trained Blissey. Be careful who you pit it against.

True sorta. Blissey's truly enormous HP almost ensures (granted it's Bold with max EVs in Defense) that nothing can OHKO it, unless it's both super effective and STABed. I've never OHKOed a Blissey in Battle Tower on Emerald, even with my Metagross.

Either way, you're right that Blissey is not for novice trainers, and it requires a bit of prediction to use correctly. But when you can use it in the right way, it can massacre teams.

Yeah, I have OHKOd many many Blisseys with just a Brick Break. It was after realizing this that I stopped using Blissey.

Hmmm... well, that is super effective. There are Pokemon who Blissey couldn't stand a chance against (Metagross for one and, her arch nemesis Snorlax), but that's what switching out is for. I've never seen any Poke take down an Alakazam quite so easily, without even batting an eyelash. So even though a physical/fighting move (I stress a *powerful* physical/fighting move) could OHKO Bliss, it still ranks up there with some of the best competitive pokes. But hey, it's all relative.
