I was breeding for Azurill recently. I wanted a male for the contests, and a female for battling. I know that when I found the ones I wanted, I had a male and a female, because I remembered going to the name rater to give them both nicknames, and making sure I was definitely giving the right nickname to the right one. I started my game up today to show my pokemon to a friend, and noticed that my (now Azumarill) in my team was male!? At first I thought I had messed up the nicknames but I checked the Azurill in my PC and it was male as well... I know I had one of each... what's going on??

I know. Azurill have about 25% chance of being male and 75% female while Marill and Azumarill have 50-50. This causes some Azurill to change gender when evolving. I suppose they didn't fix it in this 4th Gen because the 3rd one was compatible. They may fix it in the future.

Ohh... so werid. Yes I did notice that I hatched way more female Azurill than males. Thanks for clearing that up for me, I thought I was going crazy...er. Le sigh.

Nah.. it actually isn't weird. Just how the creator made the game. Or probs how it is. :)
