General Idea about linking two game types...

    .. I just got an idea. Since I know the encryptions of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon 1 and 2, it would be possible to create an addon for the normal Advance-Gen-Versions which allows you to unlock certain items or events or whatever you want in your hack.

    It would work like that:
    - There is a person in the game that asks you for a Mystery Dungeon Wondermail / Rescue-Mail-Password
    - If you tell him a valid one, something happens in the game (for example one of the secret islands is unlocked)

    This "hack" generally would be possible but since it requires an bigger amount of effort, I firstly want to know what "the hacking community" thinks about my idea. If there's a lot of feedback or if you add a lot of cool ideas, I'll think about it.

    The problem is that I'm not sure how the idea would work the best. My first idea is this:

    - Talk to the guy who says "do you have a password for me?"
    - You enter your wondermail-password (that will be the hardest programming part)
    - The decryption routine checks if the password is valid and returns its components (for example the dungeon, level, difficulty, employer, reward)
    - afterwards you can use the vars to check if a certain mission was activated (for example if your employer was a skarmory or if the difficulty is high enough)
    - a special event is activated in the game
     
    Hey, MX - Didn't see this thread here. Anyways, its a great idea and by the way I also want to let you know that all Advance Generation games have something similar to the encryption/password system you're talking about.

    FR/LG/Emerald - The mart questionaire (I think - Unlocking Mystery Gift)
