So, I was thinking for my Gengar, I'd go

Timid - LEvitate
EV's 252 Special Attack, 252 speed, 4 HP
Shadow Ball (STAB)
Sludge Bomb (STAB)
Focus Blast (For covering all weaknesses)
Energy Ball (Filler)

Tell me if this needa any work. Oh, and my Gardevoir has Will "O" Wisp, so Gengar doesnt need it.

Obviously like towlie said, Use it then switch out. But it is kinda late so i can't blame you. (Cause at this time i think you can't really think =P).

I still like gengar to be versatile and with leftovers/life orb/expert belt

you can always use other attacks too. thunderbolt is another popular one on gengar. gengar has a wonderful movepool to go along with great stats, making it one of the most OU pokemon.

And probably give it an expert belt
