3rd Gen Gengar not working either.

I'm using codes to get lugia and Ho-oh,but i want them at low levels and all they have is whirlwind,so everytime i try and catch them they break free then use whirlwind,so i used the gengar code cause hes a ghost pokemon and whirlwind is a normal move so it wont work on him,but it wont work.Why?

Im not sure if this will work..but its worth a try..get a pokemon that has mean look..are another move that stops the foe from escaping..but mean look might not be able to stop whilwind..im really not sure but its worth a try..

Mean Look doesn't work against Roar, Whirlwind or Baton Pass.

The only way to save yourself is...

a) use the tinyest amount of skill and just fight them normally at the high level without whirlwind (strongly recommanded as this isn't hard at all)

b) use Octillery or Cradily, as suction cups will stop whirlwind

EDIT: oh right... ingrain gives suction cup ability too, so you can try to outspeed Ho-oh/Lugia and use ingrain to lead off, to stop whirlwind. But then you have to try to catch them with that Pokemon as you won't be able to switch out.

Suction Cups = no Whirwind.

It's probably one of the few times where it comes in handy (apart from Cradily's Ingrain).

You could just also do the unthinkable and NOT cheat, and try to catch them at Lv70... it just might work XD
