4th Gen Getting DS and Pokemon Diamond this Wednesday or Thursday!

    Right-o! This Wednesday or Thursday, my Mom'll be sending me a Nintendo DS, and Pokemon Diamond. I've been very, very, veeeeerrrryyyyy busy working on my Emerald, because one of my friends, who has it too, said that you can Transfer your pokemon from Emerald to Diamond, by beating the game and getting the whachamacallit from the thingie.... oh, I don't remember! Eh, my friend'll just help me.

    So, I'm deciding to get as much info on PkmnD as possible. W0000!!!

    Then, I'm gounna trade and battle online, get some pokemon from my friends, and be happy! :P

    Any comments? Questions? Links? Help? Ect.?

    serebii.net is very, very useful for not only Diamond but all the Pokemon games so visit that every now and then

    Remember to train hard and raise your Pokemon's levels well because I'd say this was harder than previous games (took me twice as long to complete)
     
    Well, look at this way, I'm 65 or so hours in, only got 6 badges and 41 Pokemon, 107 seen Pokemon, and level 35-40 on average in my party XD

    Or maybe I just suck ^^;

    Oh, and can someone give me a FAQ link for "Migration?" I remember now, that's what it's called! :D

    So, I would like a decent, long explanation on how. I read about it on the net, but it doesn't say much about it. I know you have to CATCH your migrated Pokemon, but, you have to transfer 6 Pokemon per game per day. So, I can migrate 6 Pokemon from Emerald in 1 day, then the next day transfer 6 MORE Pokemon from Emerald? I hope that works that way. Also, there are 5 or 6 regions. Will my Pokemon be scattered around that region? Also, is there a time limit like in the Safari Zone? If there is, will my Pokemon from Emerald still be there after the time ius up, and I have to go back and catch them again?

    Oh, I CAN'T WAIT to transfer my lv100 Entei to Diamond! W00T!!!

    Migration is very simple.

    Simple insert a GBA Pokemon game in the DS along with Diamond/Pearl then when you're at the Main Menu select 'Migrate from [insert game name here], then select the 6 Pokemon you would like to migrate. You can choose any pokemon that you have caught as long as it doesn't know any HM moves.

    Then once you've selected the 6 you want you'll need to go to the Pal Park (you'll have to beat the elite 4 and gotten the National Dex first), then just run around in the grass or the water and catch them.

    You won't be able to migrate any more until 24 hours have passed. Also note, once you've migrated, there is now way of getting them back onto the GBA game

    The Safari Zone is in Pastoria City and is called 'Pastoria Great Marsh'. Certain Pokemon appear on different days so if you go to the next floor you can look out of binoculars to see which Pokemon are out there. There is no time limit. You have to go back once you've used up all your balls

    Hey. :) I got Nintendo DS and Pokemon Diamond yesterday. I can´t put it down! Right now I have a Grotle, Bidoof (I don´t want to evolve it - it´s too awesome), Onix and Luxio lv 20, and I´m training a lv 14 Meditite right now. I´m training for the 2nd gym.
     
    im getting a ds and pearl on friday, im gonna transfer from my crystal version since i have beaten the game and got some kanto badges in it, but that'll be after i beat the game cause i dont want to get anyhelp

    You can't migrate Pokemon from Crystal onto Diamond/Pearl. Only the GBA versions, FireRed, LeafGreen, Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald Pokemon can migrate to D/P
     
    I was going to migrate a few people... my mew, deoxys, entei, milotic and gorebyss but cant find another one to migrate

    You don't have to migrate 6 at a time, you can do 5 if you wish

    I see! So, when you migrate in the park, only my Pokemon can be found there, or will they be along with other "wild" pokemon?

    Oh, and how do I set up my DS for WiFi?

    OMG! A commercial's on right now about Pokemon Diamond! ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... and BR okay It's over. I can't wait!

    i have the suckiest suicune ever to behold. it's a level 100-- and its attack is 91, defense 121, sp def is 110 sp att is 139 what's wrong??? all my others have over 300!! and the worst part is, its EV is very high according to my friends... higher then all the others
     
    Well, the best thing to know would be what you can catch early on.

    Starters:

    Fire evolves into Fighting/Fire
    Water evolves into Water/Steel
    Grass evolves into Grass/Earth

    Water and Grass is easy to get, Fire is harder. But Fire is difficult against the first gym - Rock.


    For example, you can catch Bidoof, the Rattata of D/P - it is good for performing all your HM moves and evolves into a Water Pokemon.

    - The Pidgey this time - Starly. Evolves twice, a good normal pokemon and Fly-learner to have. It learns a useful fighting move later on.

    - There's Shinx, the electric pokemon which evolves twice and is useful to have. Get it very early one. It learns Crunch.

    - Budew, a baby grass pokemon. Evolves twice.

    - There are Zubats, Geodudes, Abra and Machops to have as well.

    - Apart from Chimchar (starter), the only fire pokemon is Ponyta. Worth noting

    A good idea would be to go online early on and get a good pokemon such as Larvitar, Beldum, Gible etc.

    Also, look out for loads of items. If you plan to complete the pokedex, catch as much as you can as soon as possible, etc.
     
    Yeah, I'm reading up on WiFi now. I have a Motorola SBG900, so it won't be likely to connect, so I'll use a USB cable. I'll set my firewall for "Accept All," and not access the net via Internet Explorer or FireFox, or any other type. I WILL be on MSN Messenger, but only talking to people I know best, as there ARE people who'll give me a Virus/Trojan/Ect. WEP is disabled. Eh, much easier.

    I'll only be using the USB if WiFi doesn't work.

    Also, can someone give me a free pokemon when I get the game? Eheheheheh... I don't have many peeps to trade with. Well, except for one opf my friends. 'No idea if she has WiFi yet... Gladly, I have had Broadband since the beginning. Thge router shouldn't be a problem; I'm a computer nerd, so, umm, yeah. I might be acting like a total noob.... eh, I'M A HIGH-LVL N00B!!! I ACT LIKE ONE ON RUNESCAPE!!! :p (lvl 62 roflol)

    I also heard about Voice Chat. Where in the DS do I talk in? Or will I need a microphone to go into it?

    Oh, and, also, does the USB adapter COME WITH the DS? If not, I'll have to wait until I get the USB Cable. Surprisingly, my Mom got a big set; spent over $200 on my items. So, supposingly, I'll be having a lot of accessories for the DS. Payday is on the first, and supposing the USB WiFi cable is cheap, I'll get it from the store IF it's not included.

    try EV training some pokemon and transfering them over to your diamond, become a battler or something. it's really fun. guide for that is at the top of the diamond and pearl topic.

    and don't give away legends it's more fun to get something for them.

    EDIT: Usb does NOT come with the DS by the way.

    First, no idea how or what EV training is.

    Second, I'm getting a kit, or as my Mom said earlier... So it may or may not be in there. ^_^ It's just a Motorola SBG900, so it may or may not connect. :P

    Also, if I don't have it, what is the usual price range at GameStop and places like that? ^_^ :P

    EDIT: Okay... I won't give away my legendaries... I'll trade them!!! Who wantsa FREE Suicune for Trade???

    Offtopic: I'm sick today, 100oF appx, meaning 99.8oF daytime and 100.5 nighttime... Darned fever! It'll be gone in a couple days, by the time it might be friday, I'll have my DS, and be aware that I'll be Mr. Grump-Grumps around 6 or 7.

    Also, (Back on topic), I've played the DS with my friend, who's trying to catch this one legendary. She has a (name of sneezil's evolution thingie) who knows False Swipe, and it's very, very, VERY hard to catch it, even when it's 1hp and she has like 50 ultraballs being thrown on it. I hope one of them clashes on it's head, crashing it's skull and dies! lolz, I tried to catch it myself, so I'm fristerated!

    I need a FAQ on friendcodes, or even better, a FAQ on Pokemon Diamond online battling. Eheheh... I'm kinda new to this forum-type, but I am a Pokemon Game Developer (yay! XD)
