GFA's Pixel Place

... Was there a point in doing that besides to up your post count?

Anywho, I made a Sprite of my Orange Archipelago RP character, Bon Choc, he's my first sprite, and still a heavy edit:

The outlines are all black (or most of them are black). D=

The hair could use some better shading, and on the jacket (i think it's a jacket) the Voltorb needs some shading, too. ;o But, it's a pretty creative edit to me. ;]

Thanks, as I have said before, I don't like outlines, but I see there importance, oh and it's a Poke Ball, not a Voltorb, but same idea

Personally, I prefer a colored outline to a black outline, gives the sprite a softer look. Most people don't like them (just like they don't like all black) as they like a mix of it. However, on humans, a mix is typically best :P On pokemon I prefer the all colored.

Rough Showing on "softness" (Hope ya dont mind)

And sorry, it is gonna be somewhat horrible, haha. I did it in like 4 minutes in paint <_< >_> Obviously these aren't the colors you'd be using for the outlines :P

Little offtopic: But I love his pants, haha.

I don't think its off topic, one is short and the other is long, me and my friend came up with it, and I don't mind you tried to show me what people meant. How's this?

you still need to get rid of alot of black outline.
especially on the hair!

the red for the pokeball on the shirt is to bright. choose a different shade of red.
is that the default red on paint?
like the ones that are first in your canvas? never use those.

No, the red's are from the Male Campers sprite

Ok, well its still to bright.
I would suggest choosing a more saturated red.

EDIT: I just checked it, it is the default red.

Hehe, isn't that the red I quickly replaced it for? XD

And there's still way too much black outline in the shirt and hair.

i would assume that its not pixel art, that you shoudlnt.

Try using a really dark color that fits with the color it is near instead of black.

And there's too much black outline on the boots XD

Yeah, the hair bothers me... I wish I could find a good picture of him. All his hair colors look like vomit...

Besides the color, how does this look?

Edit: 600 Posts, and 4 Pages, this is the happiest day of my *online* life... I wish the FDI was still around...

The color is actually quite decent. The only thing that bothers me is the way his head is facing, it caused him to lose his neck :P

And what I mean about the last sprite:

Look at his head. I used a darker tan for his face, and a darker brown for his hair instead of black on the left one. See how much difference it makes? His hair is oddly shaded, I have to admit (just as a whole)

And I'm not sure about the boots, I think it's just the color they are that's throwing me off :P

Yeah, originally there was no shading in the hair... *GASP!* Bu then again, someways, I liked that better...
