"Glory Blaze" Episode Discussion

This part Two Episode of the Tag battle is awesome too, Man poor Chimchar for this episode and of course that Chimchars weak was faceing Zangoose in a battle. It was pretty amazing that Ash and Paul won that battle against the others which they had Metagross and Zangoose.

This was a great Episode! I was very impressed! After a while, I really lost interest in the Pokemon show, until PUSA took over for 4 Kids, I've been rehooked on the show!

It's just a great show, overall. The voice acting is awesome, they are diving into more adult themes and not mention Paul is the first like, 'REAL' rival for Ash. Since Gary was more of a friendly Rival, as opposite to Paul who literally hates Ash with everything he is.

I can't wait for the team to get to Veilstone City, as I bet it'll be the first real look into Paul's past and the true meaning behind his outlook on Pokemon and life.

Oh...and has anyone else noticed how Gangster Brock is now? Haha! The way he commanded Sudowoodo and Croagunk during this three part series was awesome! I felt powered up myself! I wanted to jump into the screen and start battling. Haha! ^_^

Wow, this is by far my favorite DP episode so far...

- We finally see how insensitive Paul is. I mean we saw him being mean to his pokemon, but the way he treated the poor guy was awful.
But, I really hope Ash doesn't soften him, he's the only good thing about the anime.

- Holly sure has fallen for Brock. I wonder who will be the most depressed when they leave, Brock or Holly?

- The battle was smokin' hot. Gimme more XD

- lol at Paul's face when Ash asks Chimchar to join.
Well, at least he didn't do it behind Paul's back.

Diamond and Pearl seems to have a lot of parallels to the first series(Kenny reminded me of Gary in so many ways). Anyone else reminded of the way Ash got his Charmander? I wonder if Chimchar will also have an attitude problem and disobey him when it evolves.

Things are finally starting to get interesting, Paul is even crueler than I thought. Even Team Rocket wouldn't treat Pokemon like that.

I hope they have more tag battles like these in the future, it was fun to watch the characters battle each other while working together and interacting with a bunch of strangers at the same time.

Su yeah. I notice that too. It is kinda like a mix of Johto and the first season. Story wise it is kinda like Johto with the many fillars but pokemon wise it is like Kanto. I heard that turtwig is kinda like bulbasaur and this is the first time somebody mention the comparison between Charmander and Chimchar. It is also in the same order too. I would say more like Ash's water type but who knows if I am allow to. Teeheehee

WHAAAAT? Why'd you spoil? :( Today I went on Serebii I thought "this time, I'm not going to go on a topic that would have the slightest chance of spoiling Paul's new Pokemon. I've had enough of being spoiled" Huh. And then I go into a topic about the dub talking about the Japanese version! First topic I go into...

Fixed the spoiler angle. Whoo.

Don't worry, it doesn't matter...I would have found out anyway, I suppose haha. I don't think there's a rule about spoiling, anyway.

Fixed for spoilers. Awesome.

Actually, spoilers are fine, if labeled beforehand. I won't go overboard in this case, but for your future reference, post things like that in a separate thread in a generic title with (English and/or Japanese spoilers here). This tidbit is way too soon as we're talking about the dub version and rather off-topic -- it's the latter I'm objecting, here. Oh, well.

Anyway, new tangent: after the flashback, Paul had a genuine reason to keep Chimchar as long as he did. I'm not saying he cared, but he didn't have an attachment to Chim, it would have gone the way of his first Starly. So, maybe in his heavy-handed way, he did try to care.

No, I don't think that's it at all. I'm pretty sure he was just interested in the power Chimchar exhibited and wanted it for himself.

Oh, I'm sure, but I wanted to play Devil's Advocate. His monologue could have suggested something deeper, but I doubt it. Still, I wanted to speculate.

Well I think that he really did want to keep Chimchar to unlease and harness that power. I mean he could have gotten rid of it like his starly but Chimchar was different since he witness his power first hand. Starly didn't get that chance. Still I think it was for the power. Teeheehee

The Paul thing is in the last one. I don't really care about the "competions take place evry year" thing, oh well.
