For many centuries, as the world first formed, everything was in chaos. Villages, started up by nomads, soon fell to despair as bands of roaming thugs slaughtered, raped, and tortured every being in their cold-blooded sights. Young children either became slaves, or were forced to steal from and kill others to survive. It was a horrific sight. The Three Gods, who came to this world in order to oversee the progression of humanity, was apalled. One of the Gods, the Goddess of Emotion, believed that the mortal humans would see the wrongs of their doing and hopefully change their ways before it was too late. The God of Knowledge, though, believed that their only hope to change the world and set it on the right path would be to eradicate the humans, that way the world could start anew. The last God, the God of Courage, believed that there had to be a way to change them without killing them off, or letting them kill eachother. Each of the Gods considered this option, and agreed. Wanting to speak with whomever had the most authority in this chaotic world, they decided to speak to a wise man, a teller of stories. In a dream they spoke to him, telling him the horrors of the world around him, and that redemption was possible. All that they had to do was place in his possesion a crystal. Not just any crystal, but a crystal of redemption - a crystal of forgivance. The crystal had a strange and dangerous power: It sent an aura that would emanate within every being, purifying their very soul, eradicating any evil that lived inside them. Some evil, however, could not be destroyed. Thus, the evil took a human form. The second half to this power was that any mortal being who touched it would die, or so the legend goes. Many foolish people who saught power would seek the crystal, either dying of starvation or of natural selection. So many people were searching for this crystal, that the wiseman had no other choice but to hide the crystal somewhere that only he knew of. Different cultures tell of differemt hiding spots, but there is no definite location. All we know is that that very crystal remains hidden to this day....
Today is this day, and today, something evil lurks... A renegade angel with broken wings and a shattered halo, one that seeks to release it's vengance upon our world...and it knows exactly how to do so. Taking the form of a grey squirrel with icy blue eyes, he roamed the land until he felt something bubbling inside him - he could sense the crystal's aura. It had to be near. Forget being a squirrel. They're cute and all, but being cute was something he needn't seek. He quickly transformed back into his normal form, shaking his head to get his sea green hair out of his eyes. He could really feel it now, and his wings began to throb. Even with being an angel, a rougue at that, it still pained him to be near the crystal. Ignoring the painful throbbing in his bloody wings, he continued on until the pain became nearly unbearable. He was here. The resting place of the Crystal of Forgivance was before him, and within it, what he had been searching for all those days. Finally...All the pain I've suffered will mean something now..! He flew into the cave, glancing at the moss covered rocks and walls around him. Such a beautiful sight. Tis a pity it will all go to waste... Underneath him, he could see a small river, glimmering with the light relfecting from something...the crystal. There it was, shining before him like a star in the night sky. Despite its beauty, he kept his goal. All he had to do now was to shatter the crystal. There would be no way for any mortal man to recover it. His plan of vengance was flawless. Digging in his smoky grey tunic, he pulled out a chisel. He had to chip it in just the right place, otherwise everything would go wrong. Feeling the crystal with his fair-skinned hands, he ran his fingers through every nook and cranny of the crystal until he found the right spot. Gripping his chisel tight, he clenched his jaw and focused. The throbbing pain in his wings was killing him, but he needed to do this. Nothing could stop him now. He rose the chisel above his head, an insane look in his eyes. He swung down with all his might. He struck a bulls-eye. His body tensed up. He began to laugh softly. All of humanity's work will have been for nothing. He threw his head up, laughing more loudly," The Gods can't stop me now!" He kept laughing, unaware of a soft, pulsating within the crystal. The pulsing became more intense, and he glanced downward. It was too late. The crystal exploded, fragments of it flying in every direction, one hitting him in his shoulder. He cried out in pain, clenching his shoulder as the warm, wet blood ran down his tunic. It splattered on the ground. The force from the explosion had sent him flying. Another shard hit him, this time on the head, knocking him unconscious. With that done, he plummeted down to the ground, with the Gods looking down upon him. Someone else would have to help him. Someone else would have to get the crystal back in place. Someone, somewhere...
And that is where the Godlings come in.
