4th Gen Gold comparison

They never stated the ages of any of the characters I dont think. Just the tv show stated it. Im not sure why everyone thinks they are supposed to be/look ten...
 
I personally don't mind the new style on Gold at all, but it is true that he resembles Lucas a lot. The only really noticeable differences are the clothing and that Gold's eyes are wider. If anything, his eyes could have been made a bit smaller, while retaining that wide feel to them, it would have looked a bit more like the original Gold. Just my opinion though, of course. :P
 
It is possible that the new look of Gold is entirely different from the older version because the artist who created this new image is not the same artist who might have worked on the original Gold. Thought I'd point that out for the different slender look and all.

Though, there are some things that can be changed, I'm fine with it overall.

I agree. I don't really see anything that can be changed though. We still have to see how the other places look.
 
Credits for the artwork say "Ken Sugimori" for platinum. Its gotta be the same guy. The change in style does bring up a few questions though.

The style might be different just to simply look more modern. A lot has changed since 10 years ago.

It is true as I was already corrected...The new artist obviously learned some new techniques over the years and worked hard with the new and imporved Gold.
 
No I think this is all still Sugimori's work. His artstyle just changed when R/S/E started.
 
The old design makes him look more like a guy teenager, he's got a little more weight on him and his clothes aren't skin tight. I'm trying to say this the nicest I can, but the new gold looks a bit like a nancy.

I liked him because he looked like he could handle himself on an adventure. He sorta resembled me, but with different hair and a hat. Kinda got me into the story a little more.


However, they do seem like they could be the same person, at least brothers. The old one had better clothes, but the new one's looks will play into his story as well, I'm sure.

I'm stoked for the game, and the character's appearance isn't gonna change that.

You know, he only looks so very different because Sugimori has drastically changed his style of drawing since then.
Had Sugimori retained his old style, new Gold would look exactly like old Gold except for the clothing makeover and maybe a change in hairstyle.

This is the same Gold, if you want someone to blame, go find whoever made Sugimori change his style.
 
The newer style of Gold fits the game well, as there comes new changes for the game...There comes new changes for the characters as well...Gold seems as he is no exception.
