4th Gen Gold comparison

I'm talking about his trainer card sprite.

Lol, looks like we had a mix up. I wasn't talking to you about that sprite, I was actually referring to Jeremy when he stated...

"Well you got a point there, sweetie. I just have to wait and see the new sprites for the game."

It's alright though because I too would like to see Gold's new Trainer Card look, if it isn't the same position he is in now from the scans.

I like the new gold, considering I was actually expecting his new design to look more different than his old one like new Red.

I would think that Gold had a vast improvement, more than they did with Red in FRLG.

To me the new Gold to the old one is way much better. The old Gold was much more fatter and at least he slimmed down a bit in the new Gold.

The new Gold is a lot more modern which gives him the good appearance, but if they could have attributed the previous Gold's physical features with the newer gear I think it would have looked like a nice build up to me. Though, he does have a cool sleek look now, over his older art portrait.

all I can say is that they should of kept the shorts the way they were, Yellow. Because now the shorts look like Capri's which is very strange. Why do they always have to wear a hat?

:t354:TG

The hat is kind of like a signature for Pokémon now. It started with Ash and then ended up continuing in different styles. As for the pans, they bother me less now.

I'm not all too fond of the new Gold. The old one seemed more.. I don't know, just something about him was better. His old Backpack was so much better, his shorts, his hair, his shoes, everything really. I think just the knew one has more saturation and looks a bit stronger whereas the old one seems a bit faded and "old" looking. I suppose that the new one will have to do :P

Well it has been 10 years now, and styles have changed a long with new looks of technology and art too; this explains the difference between an old and new look.

To me the original Gold was a bit dull looking to me. I like how the new Gold's bag and pants look. Also at least he isn't that chubby no more either.

^ Are you talking about the bottom of his pants, or the fly zipper on him?

Comparing the shoes from the old Gold to the new one, I actually like the old Gold's shoes more. The new Gold's shoes just look big.

I agree. Also, did anyone else notice he has no shoe laces? What kind of message is that saying about 10-year olds nowadays? They cant tie shoes? Maybe im looking far into this...

Well his shoes hasn't bothered me, and there are shoes that come without laces by the way [/lol] Good thought though.

that is kind of weird now that you mention it.... i have a certain connection personally with the old gold, because he was in the first pokemon game i ever owned (even though he is a guy and i am not, we had something special! >.< ) but im glad they kept the same basic design for him though. ^-^ completely unlike the new girl for heart gold and soul silver, but that is a completely different story right there

Spoiler:

As I see the pictures again I start to know the differences a bit more. I can tell you that I am proud he lost some weight. xD He looks more appealing now, than before. The shoes are a bit huge and also weird looking. I wish he had socks as well. The hat's a bit better than before and you could actually see his eyes a bit more and they are more appealing than before.

The new drawing looks more detailed, so that adds some appeal. Also, his clothes look more... current. Like, more up-to-date with the current fashion. Personally, I think the new Gold looks younger. His eyes in the newer one makes him look more innocent, I guess.

And I'm totally digging the new pants. :D

I like him, but the eyes are now starting to bug me just a tad. If they added more color to the eyes of characters, that would be better...They should have done it with Gold and Heart/Soul, in my opinion.
