2nd Gen gold version mew

    My friend says that you can catch a mew in gold.
    Says that theres always a small chance that you can run into it.
    And he got it by fishing.

    Is any of this true?
     
    Sounds like grade "A" bull to me, but I have no way of proving that. As far as I know though, mew was only able to be gotten via nintendo/pokemon events, and of course gameskarking
     
    To confirm, it's not true because, yes, Mew is an event-only Pokemon -- one for RBY, at that. (As in, there never was an event for Gold, Silver, or Crystal to catch a Mew.) If he lets you see such a Mew that he caught, consider it hacked.

    Yeah it was definately gamesharking. I turned on the code to change any pokemon into a mew, and caught a level 5 magicarp wich was a mew.

    also you can get it in the red/blue version glitch
