    Hey All,

I'm playing Heart Gold at the moment and I'm stuck on the Goldenrod City Gym (Pathetic I know) I just can't seem to get passed Miltank. My Quilava is level 25 and I still can't get close. When the Miltank makes my Pokemon 'fall in love' with it, sometimes they fight and come times they don't!

It's really doing my head in, Can any give me some advice? :D

    Thanks,

    Tzipi

Make sure to pick up that TM in the route to the north of the city. It's Rollout
I believe. That's the move I seem to defeat her with almost every time I've fought her. Or you can catch a Nidoran in that same route. Train it a bit and it'll learn Double Kick.

Ah, Whitney and her Miltank. Frustrating trainers since 1999.

First, to prevent Attraction, you might want to use a female or genderless Pokémon. Miltank can't make female or genderless Pokémon fall in love with it. Additionally, see if you can get a female/genderless Pokémon with a Fighting-type move, like Low Kick. I don't think Mankey, Machop, or Sudowoodo are accessible for you yet though, so perhaps you should go up to Route 35 and find a Nidoran (female, to resist Miltank's Attract), who should know Double Kick. You'll probably have to train it up before you go back to Whitney (I recommend at least training to level 16 so it evolves to Nidorina).

Just some suggestions. Hope this helped a little!

I'm pretty sure you can trade for a machop somewhere in goldenrod city. Get machop and raise it and the gym will be breeze.

Oh yeah, that's right. In the Department Store, someone named Jose will trade a Machop for your Drowzee. It also happens to be female (probably not a coincidence), and it's holding a Macho Brace.

And the other option is to grind a bit more I suppose. Anyways the above basically answers it - try those things. If you have any other questions, please ask them in the Help thread sticky at the top of this section. Closed.
