4th Gen Golduck

I started a new game in Diamond. And now I have a Level 26 Psyduck. I am interested in having a Golduck. But I'd just like to know, in the long run is Golduck a good pokemon to have when reaching the elite four and for online play?

No, it really isn't. Especially when you have better water pokemon to choose from. For example Empoleon or Gyarados. Although it is better than some water Pokemon, for example Lumineon, or Tentacruel.

some people would contest golduck being better than tentacruel >.<

there's nothing wrong with golduck, all around his stats are decent

he won't last long in competitive battling, but once you beat the elite four you won't have need for a badly EV'd golduck with HMs like surf and waterfall and w/e other attacks. competitive battling's needs are a lot different than the RPG aspect of the game.. so play the game with w/e you want first then go battle

Um, through the game tentacruel is crap compared to Golduck. I wasn't talking Competitive battling, mainly because he shouldn't be using in-game pokemon for Competitive battling anyways :o

golduck aint that bad but i would agree with you guys that it is not for competitive battleing(wifi tournaments)

Alright, thanks guys. I wasnt really planning on using Golduck in wifi battles but I was just wondering if he would be alright in them.
