Good moveset for an Umbreon?

Sims do not mock thy Umbreon. :laugh:

Umbreon has very low offensive base stats.

Baton Pass is essential on an Umbreon if she is carrying Mean Look.

Why max out Special Defense? Umbreon's two weakness stem from Fighting and Bug which are usually both physical. So max out Defense.

An Umbreon with max HP and Defense takes a STAB Choice Band Close Combat and survives.

Ah, but this post got to me. Sweeper & Umbreon doesn't belong in the same sentence. Well said, Purfugly. He is in no way a sweeper. Take that, Punisher :P
 
I've personally used one with the following set:
Mean Look
Toxic
Confuse Ray
Moonlight

This set takes a while to bring stuff down, but it's pretty effective at doing so and it's difficult to stop, as your opponent will be confused and you'll have Moonlight. The biggest problems you'll face happen when you meet something that's immune to either Poison or Confusion, so pick your battles wisely.
 
I honestly don't see why people keep using moonlight, when wish is much better IMO, and has more PP. Toxic trapping I'm not so crazy about, but w/e. It can BP subs and curse as well.

Break it down! Yes, BP and Mean look must be on umbreon, the last slots are up to you, but I'd use wish definately.
 
use this:

Umbreon @Leftovers
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 6 SDef
Bold Nature
-Mean Look
-Baton Pass
-Toxic/Dark Pulse
-Wish

like punishment said, he needs maxed def.
use mean look and then toxic, then you can wish and baton pass to a weakend pokemon.
its not a hard set to use.

Dark pulse is only if you really want an attacking move.
(which it looks like you do since you keep putting bite and crunch and stuff.)
 
Confuse ray actually is half decent if the foe can't switch out. I don't like toxic trapping much, but your set is fine. Good EV spread BTW. Ever tryed curse to set up rhydon/rhyperior. It is quite effective.

i love toxic trapping, i used to do it all the time.
curse sounds pretty good, especially if you bp to something like rhyperior.
that would be insane to take down!

Try curse on Heracross that has a white herb to get rid of the speed drop. Domination nation! Or so I've heard...but yes, umbreon can be a great supporter for any team.
 
Umbreon would be a viable support Pokemon and a diva in D/P if it werent for the advent of insanely powerful fighting moves.
