  • Well, my friend has sort of deluded himself into thinking that a bunch of mismatched Pokemon can win against me, and I would like to prove that his team is pretty easy to counter)

So, what's a good counter for this?: (don't laugh if it seems weird, he doesn't pay much attention to strategic movesets)

Gyarados w/ Mystic Water (yeah, I know....)
    Crunch
    Surf (!)
    Waterfall
    Ice Fang

Feraligatr (yes, Gyarados and Feraligatr one one team) w/ Mystic Water
    Ice Fang
    Surf
    Waterfall
    Slash

Pidgeot w/ something, (I dun really care, he never uses Choice items)
    Fly
    Aerial Ace
    Return
    Agility

    Gengar w/ .......... I dunno really
    Hypnosis
    Dream Eater
    Shadow Ball
Night shade (I can't really comprehend it either)

    Arcanine w/ Charcoal
    Flamethrower
    Extremespeed
    Thunderfang
    Fire fang

    Ampharos w/Magnet
    Discharge
    Thunder Punch (SERIOUSLY)
    Iron Tail
    Focus Blast

There's a lot of holes, but there's probably at least 5 huuuuuge holes.

  • Lead with something with an Electric attack that he won't expect it to have to KO the Gyarados (eg. Starmie?).

The just set up DD T-tar on his Ampharos. Two should be adequate to destroy his team.

Tyranitar @ Expert Belt/Leftovers (no LO because you'll be taking hits)
    Adamant/Jolly
    - Dragon Dance
    - Stone Edge/Rock Slide
    - Earthquake
    - Crunch

You could also do this, which is (relatively) safe.

    Scizor @ Leftovers
    +Def nature, 252 Def, 252 HP
    - Agility
    - Substitute
    - Baton Pass
    - X-Scissor

Sub ('cos you're slower, you'll sub first, he'll hit second), Agility, and then Pass. You have a relatively high chance of blocking his attack with the Substitute. Just keep trying until you survive with a sub up. Pass off once that happens into:

    Smeargle @ Leftovers
    Jolly
    - Spore
    - Thunderpunch
    - Belly Drum
    - Baton Pass

You'll take no damage because of the sub, then Spore his Gyarados, set up Belly Drum while he switches or struggles to attack. Attack with unless he has something out that's not Gyarados or Feraligatr, then pass to this:

    Magikarp @ Focus Sash
Lonely with as low defense as possible.
    - Bounce
    - Flail

Take a hit, then sweep. I hope. Only Pidgeot's Return, Gengar's attacks and the electric attacks can KO Magikarp and take it down to 1 HP. Maybe you could just sweep with Smeargle...

Honestly you can just set up a simple balance counter team and win easy

Jolteon, swampert, metagross or gardevoir, Tyranitar and you can kill his whole team, if you want six, balance it out with heracrosss or Breloom, and part flying like Salamence or Charizard.

    Jolteon: modest or timid
Ev's in Sp Attack, defense and/or hp
    Choice scarf
    1. Thunderbolt
    2. Magnet Rise
    3. Thunder
    4. Thunderwave

    Swampert: Adamant
    Ev's in Attack and hp
    Icicle plate, mystic water
    1. Aqua tail
    2. Hammer arm
    3. Earthquake
    4. Ice punch

    Metagross: Adamant
    Ev's in Hp and Attack
    Metal coat or twisted spoon
    1. Meteor mash
    2. Hammerarm
    3. Zen Headbutt
    4. Thunder Punch

    Tyranitar: Adamant
    Ev's in Attack and Hp
    Soft sand
    1. Earthquake
    2. Stone Edge
    3. Crunch
    4. really up to you, aqua tail, hyperbeam, iron head or superpower

If you use breloom give it spore leech seed and a fighting and grass move.

    Hope this helped.

    Hmm...
Go breed yourself an Eevee, (with a Modest nature) and evolve it into a Jolteon.
    252 SPa, 252 Spe
    ~Thunderbolt
    ~Shadow Ball
    ~A high Power Special Attack.

    Volt or w/e absorb.
    Use Life Orb.

You'll take the first three Pokes out, and the Amphy won't do anything against Volt Absorb.

And you can take out the other three too. If he didn't EV train.
There are no ground type attacks in his team, btw.
