Grasping for the Light: A Teen Titans Roleplay

I sent the fire directly at the roof, and waited as it melted, and when it was cleared, I opened my wings and flapped into the air. It only took me a few seconds to leave the buildings, and it was a quick glide to about two miles away from the base, in the direction of Slade's lair. I managed to gently land despite being huge, and waited for Chaos to get off so I could demorph.

I slid off on the left side of the massive creature that Eclipse had become, saying "Now, shall we return to base?" With an ironic smile I added "There aren't any doors big enough to accomodate that form, though."

I demorphed, though it was slow due to pure exaution, thankfully my outfit on my human form was there as if I had never morphed. When I finished demorphing, I felt unspeakable pain shoot through my body, an insane drawback to my dragon morph. The pain was only visable in my eyes for a moment, before I managed to focus enough to ignore the pain, it'd only be like this for an hour.

I was used to looking for any sign of weakness in people, so the pain didn't escape me. "You sure you can get back" I asked, this time in all seriousness.

"I'll be fine" I said as calmly as I could manage. I hated what the dragon morph did to me, that's why I only used it in emergencys. "the sooner I can crash somewhere the better"

"Alright. If you thinks it's a bit far to Mr. Slade's, there's an old hangout of mine around here" I said, thinking of a place I'd cleared a high school gang out of. I finished by saying "Whichever you want, I'm cool either way."

saphira tured around sensing psycho`s aproach. "why did you follow me here?" she asked. saphira was weakening. she hated when this happens. no good was going to come out of this.

"I'm thinking that the sooner I can go unconcous the better, at this point I'm borderline wishing I was dead" I said, as a feeling very simaler to gettign struck by lightning shot through my body. I made a mental note to never use the dragon morph, no matter how much I needed it...

"Alright" I said. "It's about two blocks walk from here. You sure you don't need any help?"

"I'll be fine" I said stubbornly, though my mind was starting to get clouded. I knew that I'd at least get to his hideout before I let myself go unconcous..

"Okay" I said doubtfully as I started walking, keeping it to a slow pace.

I followed, though my thought process was messed up to the point where every second seemed like an hour, and the pain only escalated.. I was starting to wonder if I'd get to his hideout before my own pain forced my body to shut down...

Finally, we reached the entrance, a set of spiral stairs leaading down. A small, dingy sign right by read "Cafe Half-Dead." Grafitti covered the walls and all but one light (long since burned out) was busted. Turning with a small grin I said "Here we are."

"good" I said, as another wave of dizziness and partial darkness shot through my mind "where, exactly, is the closest place I can crash, I can't stay concous for much longer"

"Downstairs" I said, for the first time a note of urgency in my voice. I then asked "Got the wind for the sprint down?"

"I'm not sure. at this point just moving is threatening to take me down" I said, my breathing was becoming irregular as I delt with totally uncontrolled pain.. it felt like a dagger was stuck in my back and twisted....

"I'll help, then" I said, moving a bit closer and offering my shoulder.

I didn't like taking help very much, but it looked like I had little choice. I managed to mentally supress the pain, but who knew how long it would last. "I think I'll be able to get down without passing out, but if not.." I let that hang, as a blaring headache started, but I was used to headaches by now.

"Alright" I muttered, starting down the stairs. It wasn't all that steep or anything but injured as Eclipse was...Mr Slade woudn't be pleased if she was out of comission.

I followed, not saying anything, as the dizziness made it hard to consentrate, and even harder to have depth perception, but other than that, it was considerably easier than i expected. when I reached the bottom of the stairs, another wave of darkness nearly totally claimed my mind. this was getting to the point where I really would commit suicide just to avoid this. even worse that Chaos had picked up a major weakness in me, which was the last thing I wanted to happen...
