Growing up with Pokemon

    Who has grown up with pokemon like me!!?? like.. i feel like im the only one.. i would tape it, have beaten ever game, and for god sakes i has charmander pillows! if u have grown up like this, tell me. include some stuff that you bought or what u did. thanx

    Now that's fandom lol, just kidding.

    But no I have not grown up with it like you I will say though I have beaten every game and what not.

    I think the reason I never got that hardcore into it is because the age I was when I got into it which was in my mid teens but maybe if I started when I was under 10 or around there I would of done the whole pillows kind of thing though I doubt it as I never get too into anything as I don't tend to get into the whole merchandising angle of stuff I like or even love except when it comes to say collecting the episodes on DVD and stuff like that.

    Well, I didn't exactly grow up with it.

    I was 10 -11 years old when pokemon started htting hard here in America. My brother brought home a Oddish card that he traded 10 football pencils for and once I seen it I started to collect.

    Now I have over 2000 cards and every game.

    Pretty weird how things have turned out.
     
    Yes, I sort of have. When the first gameboy games came out. I got Pokemon Red like first~ Then i got in to the cards and i have hundreds now. But then i went off Pokemon and i got back in to it when i joined here. I have all them GameBoy games now, so i kinda grew up with it.
     
    Yes, I pretty much grew up with Pokemon. When it first came to the USA, I was only like five, but I was really into it. I LOVED it for a long time, then I thought it was okay, but now I love it again.
     
    I guess I growned up with Pokemon... I've been obsessed with it ever since playing it back at Japan at 1996...

    Although true obsession set in only about 2 years ago.
     
    I started growing up with pokemon when i was about 11 (year 6 at school) i remember begging this kid for a pokemon card, he gave me a charmander which i cherished. Then i had huge amount of cards and i collected as many as i could and always wished for a shiney charizard which i finally got after trading 10 fossil cards for. I was even part of the local pokemon club in my local game store.Then i went off pokemon for abit, my mum sold all my cards but i kept the shineys for rememberence...=[ Then i found my old pokemon yellow version and started my obsession again, although i dont collect the cards anymore, im still interested about them.
     
    I got into Pokemon when i was around 9 and i got Pokemon red and blue for game boy color for christmas and liked the games alot.I then also watched Pokemon on occasions which i still do now and i have a few Pokemon cards though i used to have loads more but i sold them because i really needed money but i kept the best ones.I went of Pokemon when i was say 10 or so then got back into it when i was 12 by watching Pokemon on tv and buying a gba Pokemon game but now have them all.So in a way i grew up with Pokemon
     
    i grew up with pokemon since i was 6 i got Pokemon Gold/Silver for christmas and started watching pokemon at 8 and got a GBA and played and completed Pokemon Fire Red/Leaf Green,Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald(last year i played Emerald of course)and so i've grown up with pokemon
     
    Oi! Thats me for sure! I painted my room pikachu yellow when 6 and put posters EVERYWHERE then got pokemon bed spreads and all the VHS's i could get my little hands on (now they are all replaced in DVD) I got and played every game and even named my first gerbil pikachu! I was (and still am) OBSESSED with it!

    I grew up with Pokemon since I was 11 (since I'm over 5 years older than most of you). I first discovered Pokemon in 5th grade by watching that commercial where Pikachu gets on the bus, but didn't know what it was talking about. Then some friend gave me their Pokemon manual (the little brown one that comes inside the game box) and I was like, "omg, look at all the weird animals" and I was hooked from then on.
