I've been on the GTS most of my trading history, due to lack of stable internet connection. Recently, I was looking for a spare Palkia to trade. So I looked up Palkia, there was like, 2 available. Then, I checked two minutes later and there was a full 7. After being in Palkia only for just a few minutes, I saw some of the most insane trades. Like, a Finneon (any) for level 100 Palkia.

Now, we all know that level 47 Palkias are like gold, due to the fact they're untouched and you can snag a good natured one sometimes.. but GTS is getting out of hand. A lot of people only want to trade Palkia for Palkia, or other, sometimes not-so-easy to find Pokes for Palkias. It's insane.

I guess this is really just a rant, but I try to put out unique and fun trades. After much trading though with just normals and stuff, I've decided to give a trade a try and see what happens.

Right now, I have a Feebas level 1 with an Engima berry up for trade, and all I'm looking for is a Palkia (any.) Now, for some people, that may be a tough nut to swallow, but for others, I know they'd trade their Palkia for a not-so-easy to get fish and a really nice berry. But NOBODY has taken the trade in 3 days now. It sucks :(

Why does everyone want Palkia? It's a great sweeper.. but I'm finding people are using it as currency more than anything. (either that or lvl < 9 Mew.)

Do you have Pearl version? Let me tell you something ^_^
All you have to do is go out and catch yourself a Bagon on level 25 or whatever and put it up for trade. Ask for a level 50 or 60 and up Garchomp and you'll get one (one time I received a level 73 Garchomp and I was like =O). Then put the Garchomp up for any Palkia. The Bagon should be gone within a day at the very most and so should the Garchomp. I do this all the time =)

It's amazing what can happen on GTS. I've put up my spare starters and gotten a few rares lately. Although it is annoying when you search for something and all they want is legendaries for something like a Bidoof.

I got a Dialga, which I assume is worth the same as a Palkia, for a level 2 Milotic.
So I just suggest evolving Feebas and you should get one for sure. :)

yup, trading chain. many people on nsider got hacked pokemon, but never gave up and made chains until they got a legit one.(i dont know why i talk about nsider so much:(it might be because i miss it)

I'm told alot of the pokemons on GTS are hacked and thats why you can get Lvl 50 Garchump for a Lvl 10 Bidoof, the Lvl 50 Garchump being the hacked pokemon. It doesn't cost them anything to make the Lvl 50 Garchump which is just messed up.

Yeah, that's thanks to cloning. People no longer respect the rarity and value of legendaries. Palkia's value fell from 10 to 1 in no-time. And not just Palkia, any legendary. It's the same thing with shinies, when they get cloned, they lose their value. Although you don't get them easily from the GTS, they still are either hacked or cloned, that's for sure.

Yeah, another thing I do is this:
Once you get a legendary like Palkia you can put it up for trade asking for an event like Mew, for example. You'll get the Mew but it will almost certainly be hacked. Then you put the Mew up for something else like Jirachi and you'll get one. You have to go through rather a lot of Mew and Jirachi before you get a legit one, but every time you put them up for trade they're gone within five minutes, literally.
    ^_^

He he he.... I got a lv 100 shiny abomasnow for a bidoof... which I traded to my best friend for his shiny mew and his shiny Ho-oh.

Heh, funny stories. I've actually recieved a level 50 untouched Articuno (checked its stats and everything, it's legit!) for a level 16 Pichu.

I've seen completely ridiculous trades like Bidoofs for Giratinas and Magikarps for Cressilas. I think people these days are wanting more for their dollar, and some people are just as gullible to take the trades. Or just as helpful. Either one.

How do they even search for mew or jirachi though if they are event pokes?!

You can't search for a Pokemon until you've at least seen it in your Pokedex. Which means you'd have to have got one from a friend via a Wi-fi trade.

BTW you can track what is on offer on the GTS by going to https://www.pokemon-gts.net. Palkia and Dialga are the most commonly traded Pokemon.

I once watched a friend trade a Suicine for a Miltank just cuz he wanted the Miltank for his pokedex

oh btw Siigari, i think i saw your trade, but i already have a feebass, so i thought it was a bit crazy...

now let me tell YOU something. Everyone knows that you can snag another sinnoh starter easy. Once i put in a chimchar lvl 1 and asked for a lvl 70 and up Garchomp male, and got exactly that with awesome attacks, Flamethrower, Dig, Dragon Claew and Draco Meteor

Okay, this thread has seriously gone off-topic, from people posting links to the GTS tracker from telling their funny stories on the GTS. That suits the Sinnoh Journey Journal, and doesn't need a thread of its own.
