Not sure if this is the best place to put this, but i was wondering what requirements are need for the wifi system?

I have the original DS, not the DS lite, and most of my mates who i have seen trading on the GTS have lites. I was wondering whether the original DS still allows wifi connection? I bought D/P but havent started the game yet, still training on Gen 3, so would i need to buy a DS lite to use the GTS or not?

As far as I'm aware, Wi-Fi does work on the original DS. I'm pretty sure it did when I had one.

Nope, should work fine on your original DS. I've seen movies of narrated battles where the author has an original DS.

My friend has the original DS and I battle him everyday and he uses the GTS alot!

aha, thats good to know. I own both versions on DS, so if i wanted to trade between them id still have to buy/borrow another DS. It helps alot, but still another £100 for a DS lite. I think its about that much. If i trade between myself, over two DSs, do i just connect both to the GTS and them search on one for the other?

no you can get a code for each then get the code and go to the wifi room and look for your name on the opposit game

nope you dont need a lite becuase both of my ds`s worked on wifi and so do both my ds lites so take whichever you want but i would take ds lite its more sturdy and if the hinge breaks it wont fall apart like the normal ds

Hmm They both have the same sort of "Stuff in it" But the Lite, is smaller so yea. It does work xD I have the orginal DS :D

All DS models work the same. Its all the same stuff just in different casing. You will have no problems related to which ds you are using.

You can just run them both to the Union Room, (Upstairs at any Pokecentre) and jump into it that way. I do it with my girlfriend's all the time, nice and easy for adding starters to my game, and a free Pal Park (2 every 24 hours)

So yeah, there's merits in buying 2 DS'

I may consider still buying another DS, probably the lite. When I first bought a GBC, it was the last in the 'old' class carts. Then I bought the GBA, but then bought a GBA SP, even though it only had a few extra things, and didnt use the old GBA unless trading or something. Now I own the DS, ill probably keep it and buy the DS lite, hopefully soon.

Whats the specs on the DS Lite? Whats new and different from the old DS?
