    What to do? Times?

Notice: It's a very good idea to get on the stream at least 5 minutes before the scheduled start time. Some ads can take forever to stream completely due to possible hiccups in the network. Also close any other open programs for optimal performance and feel free to point out if the stream/audio is lagging; it may not just be you!

Click here to enter the live stream channel for Movie Nights!

We'll be streaming at 5 PM for GMT-5. GMT0, and GMT+8. Within a day, all streaming sessions will show the same movie, so that everyone has a chance to watch all movies if they want to do so. We'll be streaming during the week of the event, Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with each movie every day in chronological order. Note: The Rise of Darkrai will be shown at 7PM for GMT+8 due to a plane flight scheduled.

    What we're showing?

Pokémon - The First Movie - Mewtwo Strikes Back

Ash Ketchum and his friends are tricked into visiting New Island, an island ruled by a mutant Pokémon, Mewtwo. There, they find out about Mewtwo's plans to clone their Pokémon and destroy the world, and a massive battle follows between the clones and the originals—including the "original" counterpart to Mewtwo: Mew.

Pokémon the Movie 2000 - The Power of One

Ash Ketchum and his friends visit Shamouti Island, the centerpoint of culture in the Orange Islands, just in time for their annual festival in honor of the Chosen One spoken of in legends who would save the world when Lugia's song was not enough to quell the fighting Legendary birds. But when the meddling of a self-named "Pokémon Collector" causes the legendary birds to begin fighting, will the Chosen One appear in time to help Lugia?

Lucario and the Mystery of Mew

Ash's Pikachu is taken to the Tree of World's Beginning by a wild Mew. To get Pikachu back, Ash must now team up with a legendary Lucario from many years past, but with Lucario still bitter about the hero who sealed him away, Ash and friends must discover the hero's true intentions.

    The Rise of Darkrai

While touring Alamos Town, home of the Space-Time Tower, Ash and his friends discover that the town's special garden has been ruined. Baron Alberto, a dashing but arrogant fellow, blames Darkrai for the destruction. He describes Darkrai as a demon haunting the park. Just who is Darkrai? Is he a fiend... or a friend in disguise? And, as a battle between Legendary Pokemon Dialga and Palkia rages directly above Alamos Town-and threatens to tear a hole in the space-time continuum- will Ash and his friends survive this showdown and learn Darkrai's true nature?

    White—Victini and Zekrom

Ash, Iris and Cilan arrive in Eindoak Town, a village where the descendants of a race known as the People of the Vale live, to participate in a battle tournament. They meet the Victory Pokémon, Victini, and learn of its deep connection to the history of the People of the Vale and their land. However, when Damon, a man aiming to use the castle known as the Sword of the Vale to restore his people's kingdom to its former glory, captures Victini to move his plan forward, he sets in motion a chain of events that threaten to destroy not only Eindoak Town but the entire world.

    Extras!

We'll be also showing some abridged videos or playing music, depending on the stream, before and after the movie showing proper.

I think I've chipped in for that Zorua movie, as I've told Olli. :p It's not set in stone, though.

This time around, we'd want to keep it PG-13 or lower, or if you really want to stretg it, a very, very low R.

I could help out with streaming, too, by catering to people on the opposite side of the world. Just need to get what the movies are, and I'll be able to deal with it. I'll be getting Wi-Fi all day once I finish my exams come next Wednesday.

I'm probably gonna leave thread design in either of your hands, since I'm horrible at those kind of things.

Doing it every second day + both Saturday and Sunday sounds great in my books. Since I got school most days, I probably won't be able to stream at any times before 5 pm my time, so anytime before that should be either Alex or Twiggy. I'm all up for streaming at any time from there to latest 2 am my time.

The movies we've decided on currently would be at least the first two Pokemon movies + the Zorua movie, and a bit of side stuff like showing some kind of abridged series, since people who were watching at the HH last year seemed to like it. If we're gonna stream movies other than Pokemon ones, I don't have a clue which ones that'd be.

I agree with Twiggy that the age rating shouldn't be all that high. Considering the community, a big part of the people participating would be under 18, probably all the way down to 11-12.

Emblems should probably be similar to last year, with an emblem to all who's watched at least two movies. Possibly a second one for the ones who's been on every day we've streamed?

    Anything you've forgotten? Popcorn!

One of the first things that we should do is to make our time zones clear, and our available times. I should be awake by 1PM, until 11 PM, guaranteed, UTC+8, DST does not apply. I may be up earlier and later, but the above ten-hour range is the guaranteed time range.

I'm considering acting as a streaming radio when I'm in the short period of time before the actual showing, perhaps with the albums that I've on my laptop. How does ADELE's 21 sound, for example, as music before the actual movie(s)?

Oh. As an aside, are any of the Pokémon movies that we want to stream on iTunes? :P

Because there's so much to organise, I reckon it'd be way easier if we just pick a time to meet on IRC and get it all done then point by point :3 When's good for you two? :D

    Okay what's sorted so far!

Thread design - Twiggy will make a draft and we'll all critique
    Movie times - Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday; three times a day @7PM in GMT-5(Ozzy), +0(Olli) & +8(Twiggy)
    What movies to show - Pokémon movies: #1, #2, #8, #13, #14(W)
    Only Pokémon movies? - Yes
Who's streaming when - See above
Age rating for movies - N/A
Filler between movies - Olli & Ozzy: abridged/videos; Twiggy: music
Emblems - Join 1 movie, join 5 movies, active chatter (Ozzy designing)
    Anything I've forgotten - Popcorn!

This post's going to have the draft layout of the OP. Don't blame me if the layout is out of whack, but it should work on everything not woefully out of date (think IE7-old (2006)).

We need a background image that tiles horizontally here, preferably something colourful.

We need a header image here, preferably exactly 700 pixels wide by 200 pixels high.

    Zoroark: Master of Illusions

Ash and friends arrive in Crown City, where the "Pokémon Baccer World Cup" will be held. However, the city is being destroyed by Raikou, Entei and Suicune, who are all forms of a new and mysterious Pokémon, Zoroark. Zoroark's child, Zorua, asks Ash and his friends for help in saving its mother from the villain who has enslaved it. This draws them into a race against businessman Grings Kodai, who has come to the city in pursuit of Celebi's "Time Ripple" for his own sinister ends, to save Crown City before Kodai's actions lead to its destruction.

Alright so we have the stream's URL https://www.livestream.com/pcxmn and we've all tested it, it's all coming together :D Make sure you guys note down the account/password :3

As for emblems, I'm about to make them but I can't decide what to theme them on. I'll post some possibilities in a few minutes but do either of you have any ideas/preferences?

Edit: Made some emblem ideas; critique please!

    1 movie:

    [PokeCommunity.com] GTX Movie Nights
    [PokeCommunity.com] GTX Movie Nights

    5 movies:
    [PokeCommunity.com] GTX Movie Nights
    (Went for determination but idk...)
Active chatter (was wondering if we should only award this to one person as like the "Victory Star" person on the Victini theme?):
    [PokeCommunity.com] GTX Movie Nights
    [PokeCommunity.com] GTX Movie Nights
    [PokeCommunity.com] GTX Movie Nights
    [PokeCommunity.com] GTX Movie Nights

Thoughts/ideas? I can do descriptions/names after once we've settled on the images.

1 movie: First and second seems to be OK, but we need one with Piplup. :P
5 movies: Seems good, but kinda... fierce?
Active chatter: 3rd and 4th are immediately rejected because these character do not exist in the anime-verse.

They're all great emblems, but I just don't see much in how they're relevant to the whole "movie nights" theme. They would work since they're Pokemon, and that's pretty much what this forum is about, but yeah.

In any case, I'd say the third one for the first emblem, since it focus on more than just one Pokemon, and the movie nights are all about people being together, right?

As for the third one, I disagree Twiggy. The characters may not have appeared in the anime universe yet, but just because we're watching the movies, it doesn't mean the emblems would have to be exclusive to something included in the anime. Also, Lucas did make an appearance, though brief, however it shows that the in-game protagonists are in the anime too. OT, but I'd say the fourth one, since it's more of a "person" being more of an active chatter than others.

I suppose I'll have to agree with ya on all parts :P Sometimes it's all about participating in an event.

Alright, I'll redo this one then to try and get a clearer image :3

    Alright, so we'll use this?

As for the second emblem, shall I try something completely different? The more I look at it the less it seems relevant :p Any ideas?

Also we need to work out who's posting the thread. Personally I reckon Olli should since he was the original host and hasn't had a chance to do much yet. Although I hosted it last year so that might help draw in people if I posted it, and Twiggy actually made the thread so it's his CSS but he's involved in hosting several events, so it might be weird for him to post it. Would it look better being posted by a mod or is that not relevant? If someone that's more well known posts it, will that draw people in? Thoughts? :3

Edit: Possible replacement emblems for 1 movie and 5 movies; any opinions where/if they should be used?

I tried to find a clearer version of

Actually those look pretty cool. The first one could be for the first emblem, and I like the third one the best out of the two, so I'd say that one for the second emblem. I don't know about Twiggy, but at least I like the new emblems.

As for the thread, that really depends if Twiggy's ok with it, since he's the one who's making the CSS and all. Otherwise I'm up for posting the thread.

Alex and I already talked about this, but might aswell just announce it here lol.

For the one movie emblem, my suggestion is "The Power of One", referencing the second movie :p

For the five movies emblem, "Gotta Watch 'em All". Naming emblems may not be my strong side, but at least I got my Pokémon references in place xD

Also, we'll have to remember to keep track of all the members who attend each movie, so we'll know who to award the emblems, also keeping track of which people that are active in the chat, so we'll know who to award the emblems. I reckon we should make the Active Chatter" emblem a secret one, so that people won't be spamming the chat in hopes of getting the emblem xD

Yeah, this is very important :3 Keep track in notepad or something so we can post them here after the event and then if they've attended all the movies (regardless of who's streaming), they get emblems \o/

One thing I'm curious about though; with the Victory Star emblem are we making it so only one person can get it or are we giving it to any active chatters? Perhaps we could award it to three people in total, one for each person streaming? So Twiggy will choose one from his streams, Olli will from his, and I will from mine - how does that sound? :3 At any rate I think we should show that there is a secret emblem (so just post the image and no hints on how to get it) and then say that only a limited number of people will get it. It'll make more people want to attend the streams just so they can get it :D

I wonder whether I can get away with removing an emblem box in the OP.

Hmm... Didn't expect all the movies to be relatively tame on my cramped SSD. *is having difficulty on Lugia, though* Have to test them, though.

You don't have to remove any of the emblem boxes, we'll just be showing the emblem and presenting it as a "secret" emblem so that first of all, people won't be spamming the chat, and second of all, people may get a bit more interested in watching the movies, though the latter may not be as likely. Either way, we'll be showing the emblem, but not the name or description.

So I'll just put a box in there. Hmm...

All the movies came up fine, except for the second one, of which I can't find it. Egad.

Now, to find a header. Someone has to make it. I think someone here has better idea of "graphics design"...
