I was sent to do a photo assignment out at Lake Las Vegas. 1 of 2.

    2 of 2.

    Update:

I'm being assigned to create a story, titled The Better Days through the use of photography only taking 5 pictures. So here's one picture out of the five:

I made an attempt to make it look like a scene from a movie as if this photo is a screencap. I think it turned out okay.

  • How did I not see this earlier? D:

    Picture one
Interesting picture. However, the left shell is fuzzy and the white is bleeding; meaning not as sharp as it should be.
The blood in the pan is hard to notice and could just be any liquid. If it was light better, then I think it would add more of an effect and feeling. Try using a flash, but use something like a sheet of paper, at a 45 degree angle to the pan and the camera flash. This will bounce a nice and soft flash, without risk of being too harsh and over-powering.

    Picture two
Overall, the picture is nice, but the lighting is a little bad. I can see what you are doing, but because of the lighting, the top of the picture is bleeding colour. I wouldn't have used the red chip, since it doesn't match the colours in the picture; if you took it out, then it would be better. Nit picking, the top of the Jack is slightly blurry, so re-focusing would be advisable there.

    Picture three
The focusing doesn't look right for me here. I can see what you have tired to do but the front of the picture should really be in focus, IMO.

    Picture four
Looks good to me. Can't really spot anything bad here, but the lighting might be a tad bright, as the middle part of the ground is slightly bright for my liking.

    Picture five
Has there been some editing in this picture? The right hand side is fading to black, but at the bottom, there is a sharp line with the shadow, which makes me think this is post-production.

    Picture six
Looks fine to me, but the tree palms are a little fuzzy.

    Picture seven
Nice colour. Camera enhance or post production involved here? The white on the boat is a little too overwhelming for me.

    Picture eight
Too dark inside the hut. I know what you are trying to do, the lighting inside needs to be about 1/4 or a 1/5 and pointing up, so you get a gental lighting but nothing that will kill the effect. Also, the light outside is bleeding a little.

Sorry for criticizing so much, but the way I feel is, if I just say that it is amazing and leave it at that, then I don't see the point in posting, as it isn't constructive and just bigs up your ego for no reason.

They are nice overall picture and I would like to see more soon.

For your last, I think that the camera angle was actually too high, more than anything. If you were trying to make it like a film, it would have needed to be a little bit more behind the shoulder as it doesn't feel dynamic enough. However, good composition, and a tad dark, refer to what Fabio said.

I don't know what you're talking about here. Yes, this picture is edited, as with all of my pictures because I am required to do so with Photoshop and it also makes everything look better. Most of the editing was with the skin tones, differentiating the male and the female model's from each other. The other editing was with the male's eyes; in the original, you could see them so I blacked them out. If you want to take a look, I can show you the original.

It wouldn't hurt if you could say what you personally like about each photo you comment on instead of JUST searching in every nook and cranny for any errors, sheesh. I wouldn't calling raising my ego, but instead will help me gain encouragement. I am studying photography after all.

  • another double post, hum.

Last week's assignment was to take indoor pictures using a high ISO and my instructor's location of choice was at the Bellagio Resort & Casino; so I did get a few shots while on the Las Vegas Strip.

Someone's artwork was on display. I was too afraid to actually go inside of the gallery because I didn't want to tip something over and break it. The ISO was actually 100 on this picture; I forgot to set it higher. Don't tell anyone.

Angle is off on this, I know. I wanted to shop in there, but I probably would just get kicked out.

  • hiccup. I still want this gallery up, but I've been really slow with my photography lately...like, really slow so here is a small update dur.

I did a fashion shoot at a studio some weeks ago. Loads of fun with friends and gained experience. The model is Sydney and she was wonderful.

Chris Garza of the band Suicide Silence. I don't like them either, but we're not hear to discuss about their music. I notice that they are a couple of heads in the foreground, but I was in the pit and they're out of focus so I guess they don't seem that obvious. I'm not awesome enough to have a media pass.
