Abotu the information, they just mean categories of Pokémon considering their abilities in battles, to avoid Pokémon that are either too good or too weak.

Am I the only one who dislikes the whole concept of "tiers"? I use my favorite Pokemon for my teams, and that includes both "uber", "overused" and "underused" Pokemon. I hate being told I can't use certain Pokemon because they are too "uber" or "weak".:\

i know what you mean if i wanna use hoppip let me lol but seriously its stupid maybe if it was limited so like 1 uber or something but being told you cnt even use it whats the point?

I made a "Team Rocket" theme team for ShoddyBattle, I thought Mewtwo would be a nice, somewhat evil Pokemon that would fit in great with the theme, but nope, I can't use him because some people can't handle Pokemon of such power. :\

You've said it yourself. Too much power. How would you feel when attack deoxys comes in with 400 in both attack stats and over 400 in speed? They are obscenely imbalanced, so tiers are needed. Its the same situation in OU/UU, with some pokes completely outclassing others. Tiers are vital for any structure

Agreed. Most of UU's best wouldn't last a second against OU or Uber Pokemon.

My only tier Nitpick is BL. The strength range of the Pokemon their are from being only a little too weak for OU to Barely making it out of UU.

So basically, they're too good for UU, but not good enough for OU. It's a no-man's land, where most Pokemon there are in, basically, a competitive limbo.
