    What is the difference between...

    A Hack
    and a Game Showcase

Um one changes the acuall game and the other just makesa game from scratch.

    Oh dear me...

A Games Showcase, is a showcase for Games, i.e. a place to show of the games you've made.

A hack (in the context you're thinking of) is an edited game.

    OK So...

A Game Showcase is a brand new game you made.

A Hack is a remake of a game but with changes.

Exaclty. But not a remake a whole new game.

But if it was a whole new game wouldn't it be a game Showcase?

A game is a game. A games showcase is a place to show of games.

The comparison you should be doing is either hack vs game, or hack showcase vs games showcase.

    Thats what I mean.

    Game vs Hack.

A "hack" is made by editing the code of an official game. A "game" is made usually using a game maker, but can also be coded from scratch. A "game" does not involve any editing of ROMs whatsoever, unlike a hack, which is exactly that.
