HACK

( I searched this before and all threads about hacking were over a month and so I shouldn't have revived one)

I'm not entirely sure what this whole hacking thing is about. Can someone shed some light on the situation and explain it to me? I've been offered a hacked Jirachi and Mew and I wonder about it

basically, a hacked pokemon is one that has been obtained or improved (possibly even taught moves that it could not otherwise know) by, as the name suggests, hacking into the game. most players look down on hacked pokemon as they are created in seconds, rather than trained properly from the ground up.

Uhhh... I think this might be better suited to DPPt but since hacked Pokemon have been around in multiple gens, I'm going to move this to General Gaming. D:

Most hacked Pokémon are obtained through cheating devices such as Action Replay or Gameshark. Mainly AR these days though.

It's considered bad practice, and there are cases where hacked Pokémon become Bad EGGs.
