im sure some has asked this question before, but i tryed looking for it but couldnt so sorry for the repeat.

how can i tell if a pokemon (mostly event pokemon) and really or hacked.

    once again sorry

It takes a honed eye and experience.

Usually little things stick out from the pokemon that give it away such as spaces after its name, or incorrect locations... etc

How do you tell if it has spaces after it's name as what they are called "spaces" you can't excaclty see the spaces xD

ok. what about the pokeball picture, at pokemon info.
like for example, i got a celebi in a trade and it show that the person who traded it to me caught it with a great ball.

is that a sigh that its fake

You can tell instantly when it's used in battle.

    Yes, that Celebii's a fake. :/

THe only Celebii's even available are in pokeballs only. :/

like KOA has been saying, it really takes a good experienced eye to catch some of the more... sneaky well done hacks.

There is a list of obvious hacks (kudos to Mr. Umbreon) that is stickied on top of the trading section over here... it is very informative and I reccommend that you bookmark it.

aside from that, always check the stats of pokes that sketch you out. such as Shiny Events.

I'll have taken suspected hacked pokes before realizing that they were hacks, because it took me awhile to realize it, but w\e.. it happens from time to time.

yes i c what u mean with the extra space in battle.
i also got all the deoxys from trading, what ball show it show that they got caught with

Yeah, I'm terribly experienced in the art of hackspotting, being a Hacked Pokemon Investigator on another site.

You'd be surprised at what dumb hackers leave out. :p

    EDIT: Deoxys' are trickier.

THere's been a few Event Deoxys' like the Cherish Ball ones given out alongside Darkrai at the Pokemon Movie event and the Space C Deoxys.

Space C comes in a normal pokeball, Cherish one comes with a Cherish Ball :P

As for the 3rd Generation Deoxys', they come in any ball they were caught in and adopt the OT and ID of the person as well.
To my knowledge, I believe Gamesharking was the only way to unlock the Deoxys event in Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald/FR/LG

Movesets are a clear pointer too.....

You see a Blastoise with Aqua Jet and Ice Punch or other tutor moves...it's impossible to get since Aqua Jet is a 4th gen move.

Btw...I must breed me a counter turtle.
One with BB, EQ, AJ and MC :D

Jirachi is only Avaliable via Colosseum bonus disk and comes in a normal pokeball.

Lugia can come from XD and be in a normal pokeball. Navel Rock Lugias from Hoenn can be in any ball.

I'm surprised this hasn't been brought up in the thread before, but the only way to truly verify your event for legitness is to own an R4 or M3 device, extract the save file from your game card, extract the .pkm file for the pokemon in question, and run it through an anti-cheat program (or be very well-versed in hex coding). Yes, it's tedious and expensive (R4/M3 will run you about $80), but it's the only way to know for sure (or at least know somebody who can perform all of the above).

It's VERY easy to create a completely legit-looking hack, so you can't verify its legitness simply by comparing its info on the DS.
