Hacking on WiFi?

Hey guys

Is it possible for you to battle random strangers on wi-fi who hack/cheat? meaning they got pokemon killing you in one hit, they have unlimited health, etc... are people able to do that?

If the stats are odd it kinda won't let you go on I believe. I have a friend who hacks and says the cheats just don't work and edited pokemon it just won't let in.

mmmm ive meet some hackers yeah big ones and yes they do cheat i however find it annoying =/
