1st Gen Hall of Fame MAX number

Hi,
Im grinding the pokemon league in gen1 and so far i beated it 219 times (first set of HoF says Hall of Fame nº 189), I'm wondering if there would be a cap on 255 like with the hours played, or what will happen after reaching the max number of possible storage of beaten Pokemon Leagues.
