4th Gen Happiness Tips

I just hatched a Riolu and have a Happiny that has yet to evolve. And I was wondering if anyone could give me tips on how to make a Pokemon happy quicker so it can evolve quicker?

Happiny doesn't evolve with happiness, Chansey does. Happiny evolves by holding the Round Stone and leveling (there's one such stone in the Lost Tower south of Solaceon). And for Chansey, evolving a Pokemon seems to give it a ton of happiness, so it shouldn't be much work getting it to Blissey (back in previous games, my Zubats evolved into Crobats the level after becoming Golbats).

    But other methods for happiness...
Having it on your party as often as possible (PC/daycare is bad!).
Give it permanent stat boosting items (Calcium/Zinc/etc.).
Have it win battles and level up.
Give it a Soothe Bell if you have it (and do all of the above with the Soothe Bell attached).

I havn't don it yet in my Diamond, but this is what I did in my Sapphire to get my Crobat:

First I went to the Dept. Store, and went to the floor that sells Zinc. I bought everything you could buy that are like Zinc. Then, I gave all of them to my Pokemon that I wanted to evolve.
Then, I went in between The city with the third gym, and the city across from it, where the dude with the ralts lives. Then, I kept battling everone there for a long time. Then I repeated the 1st step a couple of times in between. I also kept checking it's happyness at that one lady's house. eventually it evolved.

What I did was after I had exprience share, I gave it to my pokemon, then I kept it in my group as soon as it hatched/captured, and it soon just evolved. I never tried using any zincs, etc, so I don't know how many it would take to get it to enough happiness, sorry.
