Have they ever shown a Pirate-themed character before?

I can't honestly remember, and Team Aqua doesn't count. Some guy who's like all really piratey. Refresh my memory please? What Pokemon did he/she have, or would he/she have if there wasn't one prior.

There was Phantom, as people have mentioned before, Galen (his right-hand man), basically his entire crew, and, other then that...the Trainer at the beginning of movie 1 that Ash fought. I think his name was Kezoki or something. He had a Donphan and a Golem...some other Pokémon, too.

OH CRAP, I totally forgot that guy had a Jolly Roger on his bandana, all I remembered about that was that he had a Donphan....and I was just thinking of Donphan earlier, too...

I just don't count Team Aqua, they may have bandannas, and be some sort of sailors, but they aren't pirates.
