4th Gen Have you ever just went on to the next game?

I mean like have you been trying so hard to complete your pokedex or raise your pokemon in D/P and when Platinum came out just get that and transfer everything to that? Cause I have in Diamond when I was only like 200 away to compleating National dex and I just used Diamond as a giant storage.

Thats exactly what I do with every 3rd version of the game, I just want to get to the good stuff (like the Battle Frontier and the Fight area etc.)

Nah I just keep playing pokemon daimond. I mean who cares about platinum its nearly all the same isn't it? I have all my pokemon in daimond since I don't have platinum or pearl.

That's what I'm going to do when SS/HG comes out. I'll trade over all my important Pokemon and use D/P/Pt as storage.

My Pearl is my storage game, and if I need anything from that I get my step-sister (Who is really bad at pokemon. She always makes me trade her higher leveled pokemon when she's like right in the beginning.) to trade with me between the games.

Once I get my DSi though, I won't need to do that, because I will just have my Pearl be on the Lite, and the Platinum on the DSi.

I have played about 180 hours on diamond. My dex is not finished but i have been thinking about transferring my pokes over to my platinum game. I bet it took quiet a bit to get junks just to start transferring pokes over. or did you just take the ones you wanted at the time?

I usually don't transfer EVERYTHING off of one game and onto another until a new generation comes out. For me, it's a whole lot of trouble because I don't have two DS systems and I have to borrow a friend's DS to get all the trading done, and since I have all the pokemon it takes forever. So I didn't put all my pokemon on Platinum when it came out.

No you don't. Heart Gold isn't released yet. Unless you mean Gold, but, sorry to say, you can't trade anything to Platinum from that game.

Anyway, Diamond along with Pearl are my giant storage boxes.

I always use 1 of the two games as 'real game', in which I get all Pokémon and get everything. I never start a new game here.
I use the other game for the story line, and I start a new game when I feel like it.
And the third game, like Emerald or Platinum as extra, to beat the Battle Frontier for example...

So I guess I stock Pokémon on the first and third games... I never transfer them to speed things up, only to complete the dex if you can't catch them and only after I finished the main story line.

Hmmm, I''ve never done that before. I might do it when HG/SS comes out - see which game I like better and use the other for storage. I just have to get my hands on another DS. XDD;

My Diamond collection contains almost every single Pokemon from my Fire Red, Emerald, and Ruby games, and it's currently just a giant storage bin. For Platinum, I've only cherry-picked from my Diamond when I absolutely needed something, such as grabbing an old Dragonite to breed Outrage into my Garchomps. I've otherwise taken a noble undertaking to complete as much of the Pokedex as possible through the good ol' means of hunting them down and capturing the Pokemans, even dealing with the tedious Swarms and Trophy Garden.
