    have you guys ever noticed on MEWTWO VS MEW WHEN ALL THE CAPTURED POKEMON ARE GOING THOUGH THE SCANNER and team rocket is saying each name but when SCYTHER comes though they say its a alakazam???

    have you guys noticed that?
     
    The question ought to be who hasn't noticed. Blame 4Kids for that (you can actually blame 4Kids for practically everything, even though this is one of their better dubs).
     
    I noticed that too. And it's definitely a dub mistake. In japanese version TR was rightly said, that this pokemon is Scyther.
     
    Yeah noticed that one the first time I watched it and I noticed as well how at first when the trainers met for the first time and they asked how they got to the island, one of the trainers who owned a Piedgot(sp) called it a Pidgeotto(sp).
     
    4Kids.....people who don't even understand what a kids show is supposed to be...but hey,they have to dub so many epps in so little time,it isn't that uncommon to see errors when you don't go over it twice.
     
    4Kids is a metaphor of a company. That's all. Also remember that some of the shows we have here like Justice League are in the same class as Gundam over in Japan, so Anime that we think are kids' shows may be more for teens and above over there. Dragonball is the perfect example of what I mean.

    As far as 4Kids goes... We just have to live with it. That will probably be the only way we ever see the translated Pokemon series in the States. I doubt anyone else will translate it.

    Yeah, there's been a numerous amount of minor errors, but who really cares? You still watch the show, right?
     
    True. So long as you know what's really going on it isn't a big problem.

    There have been countless other flubs as well, such as the Pokedex calling Tyrogue the evolved form of Hitmonchan and Hitmonlee, Brock admitting to having a Ninetales once, and Brock saying he lived in Flint City. We all know this isn't true, and granted, they mostly appeared during Pokemon's slowest hours (Johto fillers), but it shouldn't bother you if you still understand what they mean.

    Like SBaby said (sorta), 4Kids is a company. A company's main focus is to do one thing, and that's make a profit. Errors like that are not usually important, it's the amount of capitial they can produce while staying profittable. Also, since no one else'll take up the job (especially after so long), 4Kids is all we're gonna get. After all, it could've been worse.

    Had the movie been dubbed recently, that'd be understandable. But at the time the movie was dubbed, 4Kids was ONLY dubbing Pok?mon. Plus really, they've been doing the dub since 1998. You'd figure that they'd know what the hell they're doing by now. They don't even recall half of the names of the Pok?mon or what they did in more recent episodes. o_O
     
    i never really noticed it! ill watch it again, then ill laugh hystericly at 4kids dumb mistakes! ive noyiced other things wrong with the episodes tho! like in an epesode, they made ash move his lips, and they made misty talk!!!
