4th Gen HeartGold/SoulSilver Dialogue Translation

Well I started translating some of the dialogue in HeartGold/SoulSilver. The dialogue however, is not meant to be a direct translation of the Japanese text, however, for text that was IN Gold and Silver, I translated so that was the same as in the original English versions. For some translations I even use some dialogue from DPP. But yeah, so far only the introduction has been translated, but yeah, it's a start...

Pokemon Heart Gold/Soul Silver Introduction Translation:

いま ほんを よんでいのじゃ
Hmm? Oh, please forgive me!

Hello! Sorry to keep you waiting!

Welcome to the world of Pokémon!

わしの なまえは イーキド
My name is OAK.

みんなからは ポケモンはかせと
したわれて おるよ
People call me the Pokémon professor!

ところで きみは

まずは わしが
この せかいのことを おしえよう！
If so, I might be able to teach you a few things about this world.

この せかいには ポケットモンター

We humans live alongside Pokémon as friends.

At times we play together, and at other times we work together.

そして ポケモンどうしを たたかわせ
きずなを ふかめていったり……
Some people use their Pokémon to battle and develop
closer bonds with them……

わしは そんな ポケモンのことを
くわしく しるために
まいにち けんきゅうを
つづけている というわけじゃ！
But there are still many mysteries to solve!
That's why I study Pokémon every day!

On the bottom screen you will see two option buttons to the right....

The pink one is もどる, which means "BACK".

The purple one next to it is おわり, which means "End" literally, but "OK" in this context.

Hmm possibly you should translate on a No$gba if your doing this, myself wouldn;t want it, but others may.

Reread your post, this is dialogue.

Also translated some of the mother's dialogue. Translations, are probably not final BTW. One or two lines might not be 100% accurate at this point.

Interesting project you have going here. Good luck to you - would be quite nice to see what people say. =) (Particularly in the newer instances - I have suspicions dialogue is pretty similar to what it was in GSC for a number of NPCs...).

Yep and it will probably be the most accurate one, as I only copy and paste English text from Gold and Silver, if it the text being translated was in the original GSC.
