Bring a team 60-65+ and you'll be fine, just watch out for the hail. Bring plenty of revives and stuff while you're at it.

I haven't played Pokémon Heart Gold in a while, so I decided to pick it up again. From my last adventure, I left Violet City after earning my first badge and headed south to Azalea Town. I battled all the trainers in route 32 and, after healing my Pokémon in the Pokémon Center (and getting an Old Rod from a nice Fisherman), I headed towards Union Cave where more obstacles lie.

My current team looks like this:

• Ghastly (14)
• Flaafy (15)
• Cyndaquil (15)
• Egg

Note that I am keeping Cyndaquil in it's base form until level 33 so it can learn it's moves earlier and the game will be slightly more challenging.

I'm thinking about whether or not I should train Kiraga at this point. I'm not sure who I would like him to evolve to. I'm also thinking about replacing Asaki for another flying type. Itsuki, Nagata, Tanaka and Raido are going to be set in on my team no matter what. I'm training everyone to about level 30, then hopefully I can take out Jasmine and get the Mineral Badge.

Started a new game in Heart Gold, even though I just did a few days ago. I didn't want Chikorita anymore. XD

This time I started with Cyndaquil. However, it will soon be abandoned. Here is my future team:

I will get them all shiny (two of which already are, if you're curious how, RNG) and trade them over. This is subject to change.

The first gym will be hard because of them not obeying, but after that they will obey.

Corphish is on my team too as an HM slave. Traded a Dusk Stone with Corphish too so I can evolve Murkrow eventually, I plan to right before Morty.

As you can tell, I taught some Pokemon (all except Milotic) move tutor moves before sending over.

I am not far in the game at all, just got my PokeDex so I can trade. When I send over a TM for Miltoic, I will go to sleep.

The next time I restart, I intend to have a team of things I've never used before. But that's still some time away. Playing very little until I get back in the habit of working on stuff for school.

Yesterday I finally managed to play on a Sunday after beating Whitney and picked up the Magnet in both HG and SS. I've actually entered Ecruteak in SS, but not HG, mostly laziness.

My brother bred things for his games. Burmy, Combee, and he bred me a Cherubi (I'm not so sure on that one, it's not hatched yet). He had 3 Burmy eggs and 6 Combee eggs left after getting what he needed (1 male, 3 female Burmy, 1 female Combee). Traded the 10 eggs to SS, 5 have hatched. Female Burmy, male Combee, 3 female Combee, not necessarily in that order, first egg to hatch was female. Doing Apricorn run with Quilava and Slugma and 4 eggs to hatch them (3 to get through Ilex Forest and back).

Still searching for the elusive Surfchu and Flychu on Yellow Forest. Really need to stick both 'walkers on the route now that I've finally gotten a Duskull (stupid Winner's Path kept giving Horsea as the middle one).

Currently making my way through Victory Road and I'm debating on either evolving Scyther to Scizor or finding a new Pokemon entirely. Getting through Victory Road with a 4x Rock weakness is pretty tough.

recently beat Morty battled my way to Olivine and up the lighthouse surfed over to Cianwood avoiding the trainers as my Electabuzz is already way past my other pokes level wise.Took the Medicine back to Jasmine went and done the first Safari Zone challenge waiting on the second but I can't remember when it is. now I am grinding before facing jasmine herself.

- Leveled up my team to Level 11 among the early routes.
- Beat Sprite Tower with Milotic and Murkrow.
- Beat Falkner easily. Luckily, my Milotic obeyed most the time. My Skorupi wouldn't obey at all. It listened twice..once for Aqua Tail..and again for another Aqua Tail that missed. So I switched to Magby and used Heat Wave.

- Got an Old Amber, Helix Fossil, Max Ether, among multiple shards. What do I do with shards anyways in HG/SS?

I chose not to catch the red Gyrados,helped lance ow team rocket, beat Pryce surprisingly easy forgot and had to go beat Jasmine real fast finnally got my Magby to evolve now liberating the radio tower.

- What do I do with shards anyways in HG/SS?

You trade them for berries from the Juggler looking guys

I picked up heartgold after not playing it for about 2 months, did the whole "check my team" thing. Then i went to the battle frontier... i went from 1 battle to 20 battles in the battle castle in about half an hour. then i had to go against darach. he whooped my butt. now i feel sad... as well as determined to try again.

I'm getting ready to battle Morty. I'm quite nervous about that. His gengar scares me ;) and those sleep attacks...ugh...
I also discovered that my growlithe and sandslash are extremely slow learners...they take ages to level up ;p
And my Croconaw evolved! yay! Never thought he would evolve so soon.

These are actually the only pokemon I have...I have only a few other weak pokemon...but nothing useful. Any suggestions? I'm in dire need to train a new pokemon before I continue ;)

Well, despite having SS since the release date, I only just now finished the unown report(no thanks to any of the big pokemon sites.)
Now all I have left to do (at least I THINK) is win each of the pokeathlon events.

I started playing ss a couple days ago after abandoning it for weeks after some training i quickly beat the E4 and Lance as well as all of Kanto's gyms. Right now im trying and changing up my team to beat Red who destroyed my team when i first battled him because i had no idea what i was getting into =P

All I been doing now is re-batting the trainer in the trainer house to earn more BP as i'm playing Pokemon Platinum at the moment :)
