Hello, new here:)

Hi all.. I'm new here, my whole family thinks I'm nuts for loving to play Pokemon on my DS as an adult but my nieces and nephews love battling and trading with me so I get to be the 'cool geeky Aunt' lol :D

I'm currently working my Way through Pokemon Black, I've got HeartGold, Platinum, Diamond & Emerald although I haven't gone all the way through Emerald yet.. The newer DS games keep calling me over and away from it..

I'm trying to finish my pokedex, I've got almost everyone.. I can't stand not having it full... just that crazy kind of person.. same thing with my xbox 360, I HAVE to have all the achievements.. We have dragon age on the PC but I HAD to buy it for the xbox so I could get the achievements.. :P

I have horrible luck and have never been able to find any shinies on my own games so I try to trade for them and have fun giving them to the kids in the family or selfishly keeping them for myself :D
I have been going nuts trying to find a shiny Pikachu or Pichu as Pikachu is one of my favorites and I've never seen his shiny form.. I'm also trying to learn how to battle better as I only get to practice with little kids so everyone here would probably kick my butt as I'm used to just attack and no strategy... I love to destroy the kids and then give them the Pokemon I killed them with.. hehe.. they get so mad and then so happy :)

Well that's quite the introduction you've typed up here. Don't worry about being the older, crazy aunt or whatever. Most of us here are of an older demographic, and even the younger members are quite mature if I say so myself. I think you'd fit in quite nicely here. :)

I don't think I've ever filled the Pokedex. It's never really been an issue for me, except FireRed and LeafGreen where you're meant to get every Pokemon you can for cool items and stuff. :) Sucks when you constantly run into Abra and they run away though. :( But yeah, that. If you're looking for Pokemon, the Trade Corner would suffice, and battling can be found at the Competitive Battle Center for all your needs. :]

Make sure you take a whiff look at the rules, and have a great time here! :D

Sarah you sound like the Aunt everyone wishes they had! Your nieces and nephews are lucky to have an Aunt they can play Pokemon with. I wish I had one! ha ha

Another (alleged, lol) adult here, there are lots of older Pokemon fans, and I've been one since the very start :)

I'm looking over your list of games and noticed that Leaf Green is strangely absent. I mean, that's the remake of the original Pokemon games with one important addition... the cutest main female trainer in any Pokemon game ever (I have a slight obsession with her xD)

I went on a mad rush to complete my Pokedex in Platinum but I haven't been motivated to complete it since... And I've been extremely lucky with shinies... I must have at least 10 I caught myself xD

And an aunt that plays Pokemon? I would have certainly liked to have someone like that when I was growing up xD

Thanks for the kind welcome guys.. and yes, I AM an adult.. I'm actually in my VERY early thirties.. :shocked::knockedou I'm all old and stuff..lol. I'm in the hospital a lot so Pokemon is fun and easy to play there, and a good distraction :P

And, Zeroblivion, thanks for the welcome, yes I've heard of black and white, I just haven't beaten my black edition yet.. I just got my first Zorua egg from a friend and I'm soo excited!! He looks like a really cool little Pokemon from the pictures but my absolute favorite guy is my shiny Arceus. I just wish they'd implement something into one of the games so that you could change names even when you traded for the Pokemon whose name you wanted to change.

I'm so jealous that you caught so many shinies!! lol.. I never do:P
But I DO 'kinda' have leaf green but its a hacked/fake game and doesn't work properly.. I got a way too good of a deal on a huge bundle of all the older original Pokemon games but when they arrived they didn't save properly.. well they saved the game sometimes but didn't allow you to transfer Pokemon to any other Pokemon games and when I took a closer look you could tell they'd been faked and weren't from Nintendo..

So I asked them about it, they refunded my money, sent me extra money and asked me to ship it to a different customer to them. They also offered me extra money not to tell eBay.. lol I refunded the extra money they sent me, reported them to eBay and Nintendo and got them kicked off eBay.. I'm sure they were back on right away but they lost that account anyways.. I doubt Nintendo did anything about it I just got a generic thank you response.. it sooo ticked me off because i thought I had all of those games... oh well.. always have to be careful with ebay is all..
I guess I am a fun aunt.. when the kids come over there are 2 360's, my 2 Ds's plus all of their Ds's and then My Aibo and all of my Pleo robots running around everywhere.. not to mention the dogs and the parrot :D
Whoops, tried to post a pic of all my robots but that'll have to wait till I've hung out here a little longer.. see? My 'elderly' brain is already forgetting the rules.. lol..

Anyways, nice to meet you all.. hope we can play and/or trade! :)

Welcome Sarah. I'm new here too so I can't tell you much about the forum, but you sound like an amazing person. :)
I'd love to have an Aunt/Uncle that plays Pokemon. The only people that play Pokemon in my family are a few of my cousins, so your nieces and nephews are really lucky to have you. :D
