Hello! Not what I remember!

Hello everybody! I have just gotten Pokemon Pearl and can't wait to start it! I already beat Diamond like a year ago, but now I forgot everything! I guess a question I can start with is what pokemon should I pick as my starter, but I'm sure I can just do a search and find millions of threads about it so don't answer that! Can't wait to start talking about this game again with everyone!
