i find it hard to fill the last gaps in my team too. i would use the dusknoir becuse its nature is good, then give it moves corosponding to its highest offensive stat.

for your last spot have milotic because its far better than vaporeon with its nature being also good, calm which lowers its attack but rasises its massive sp def stat. its moves are also very good becuase hypnosis works in tandem with recover

Skarmory and Vaporeon are your best bet. A basic defensive wall such as Skarmory stands any physical attack, while Vaporeon's high HP and EVs in Defense will be sure to make it a force to be reckoned with.

there are different opinions here. please explain/..

i suggest Milotic & Dusknoir. Milotic is a very good water type and defensive wall. with its good nature and move pool and its sp def, it can stand up to super-effective attacks.

dusknoir because well its a ghost, all we all know ghost can be very tricky to beat. just work on its move set, teach it moves which work with its best offensive stat.

I suggest Skarm, and Vaporeon ^^

Skarmory is always one of the #1 physical walls out there!!

Vaporeans got water absorb, its good to wear off competition with any player w/ milotic (unless it know HP, which i highly doubt >.>) , and an ... UU'ed sp. wall? O_o

hmm still not convinced on what to choose. thanks for commenting everyone. any more opinions?

I don't like Skarmory.. Skarm has exceptional defense but it has so many easy counters. An Infernape can single handly destroy it and because Skarms are so common some teams carry a Magnezone just for that easy KO. I think because most good battlers are so used to battling skarms that they always have a simple counter against it, rendering it totally useless. Heck I've seen Skarms been tricked with choice/specs, which was pretty funny(though definitely a good strategy on the opponent's part).

As for Vaporeon and Milotic, it depends on your team's makeup. Milotic is a popular choice as it has simple movesets and is easy to use. Vaporeon is not as common but I happen to like it a lot. It can be a good wall just like milotic but it can also be a hazer, which can be really handy. It can also baton pass some defense from acid armor, even wish to replenish a fellow teammate's hp. I really like Vaporeon because of its versatility, but you really can't go wrong with either. I would pick Vaporeon even though most people would pick Milotic. I like being different anyway.

    Vaporeon's set goes like this
    Vaporeon@leftovers
    ability:water absorb
    <bold +def -att>
    evs:252hp 252def 6sp.def
    -acid armor/haze
    -surf
    -wish
    -baton pass

You can play around with its set a bit as it's pretty versatile and you can use it any way you want.

thanks for the help c dog. ill look into vaporeon. now does anyone else think i should use milotic > vaporeon, or maybey skarm?

what is a good ev spread for this vaporeon?

    Vaporeon @ Leftovers
    Modest/Bold
    -Surf
    -Ice Beam
    -Wish
    -Haze/Protect (Protect goes with wish)
