[Other] [Help] Looking for text editor/script editor

I've been using Advance Text and am ...underwhelmed with it. Especially given that I'm romhacking Emerald. Further, despite tutorials, I still can't find where some of the fricken text is, even using the search feature. At this point, I'm really hoping to find a better text editor, especially one that I could browse through text with (like A Text for FireRed).

Also, I'm interested in scripting, and I saw recently that A-Map is horrible for it (which explains why I couldn't get anything to work with it >.>). I just downloaded PKSV. Is this a good script editor, or is there a better one I should look into?

    Thanks!

I would recommend XSE. Many people prefer it over most other script editors.

AdvanceText should never be used for anything other than editing introduction text, and PKSV sucks. XSE trumps both of these programs in every way possible.

Thanks, I've already downloaded XSE based on your suggestions, and have found a ton of tutorials for it. I was hoping there was an easier text editor program rather than having to mess around with a script editor just for text, but I guess that might not be a thing.
