I dont like close combat becuase it lowers def and sp.def.
If you use close combat you will be killed in a heart beat and the leftovers will be useless!
But if you have a focus sash you can use close combat and not die!

Lucario has high defenses, it's your choice of whether to use Blaze Kick or not, but I don't reccomend it. Edit: You have five moves, =/

lol no. Lucario shouldn't be takibng hits if you know how to use it. Close combat pretty much destroys blissey...I'd listen to Itachi...I'm no good with lucario, so listen to him...

Yeah. Close Combat+STAB=Total Annhilation to Blissey. Heracross does the same job as Lucario, except Lucario has somewhat respectible defenses.

Not quite. Actually, lucario can use special attacks, which hera cannot EVER do. Heracross can take more hits than you'd think, and Guts is always good.

Yes. I agree, Guts is good. Most people know how to use it, i'm assuming. Heracross, if it's a novelty with a Choice Specs set, it can. It can take more hits then you think, okay, I agree. Without knowing a thing about it's Defenses, i'll agree. Edit; don't ask about the smilely.

Choice specs wouldn't help that 40 base SAtk...but that's where special lucario comes in, though I prefer mixed.

I had to lol at the "this will pwn metagross" comment. Metagross has the defenses to survive blaze kick and OHKO you with EQ...sorry, but no. Lucario is in no way a metagross counter. Zam is also faster than you. Hi Alakazam! Hi focus blast! Hi, my grave! Claydol can take a dark pulse and destroy you with earthquake.

I am correct. You won't be OHKOing metagross or claydol, or outspeeding Zam...don't think of lucario as counters for any of them. I know its stats...my Alakazam didn't OHKO metagross with fire punch (3rd gen) so don't expect blaze kick to do anything different.

Itachi, you're correct, but relax dude. He's obviously relatively new to competitive, so don't accuse him of flaming and such. Plus, don't insult him right back. It's no better than what he did.

By the way, in my experience of using a mixed Lucario, give it either Hasty or Naive as a nature. It needs all the Speed it can get.
