    Hello all,
\I am asking for help. I have been given the task of sorting/ value and jusyt plain figure out what we have. Is there a place to find value or how to organize many many cards? Some are first additions and some Holo? I know very little about this and would appreciate any help.

Welcome to the forums chevy350! We would need pictures to truly price everything out for you, but I can at least give you suggestions on organizing them.

To start your organization you can look at the little symbol to the right of the picture (newer cards are on the bottom left). These symbols will tell you what set they're from. Group them together first and foremost then move on to secondary grouping. Next, look at the bottom right of the card. There will be a series of numbers (example: 63/110). Organize those set by the numbers you have from lowest to highest. You'll notice the holos and rares (marked with a star) will be first with uncommon (a diamond) and common (a circle) following behind.

These rules don't apply to every single generation though — there's been 25 years of Pokémon cards printed and not every set is exactly the same. This might help a little:

This is what I am dealing with. I am a little confused on the markings on bottom right. some are circles diamond and stars. "To start your organization you can look at the little symbol to the right of the picture (newer cards are on the bottom left). These symbols will tell you what set they're from. OK, first things first. If those are taken out of the binder pages then put them back in - but very carefully. Handle as little as possible. The slightest bit of damage, even what you might think of as insignificant, could have a big effect on their value for a collector. You've got some pretty decent stuff there. The stars, diamonds and circles are the rarity symbols; rare, uncommon and common, although I wouldn't worry too much about them. The set symbol is the one just to the bottom right of the actual picture. The first (base) set doesn't have one, but all the subsequent sets do; a tropical leaf for Jungle, a bone claw for Fossil, an R for Team Rocket etc. Yours seem to be all Base set, Jungle and Fossil, which are the first three sets produced

Another thing to look out for is the first edition symbol, which is a little black circle with a 1 in it to the bottom left of the card picture. These are generally worth more than the same card without that symbol (unlimited).

Just to say again; condition is absolutely everything, so handle carefully. One thing you might consider doing is buying some soft sleeves. These are pretty cheap and will go a long way to help protect the cards - one card per sleeve.

Let me know if you want to sell
