    Hello! I'm interested in hacking Pokemon Fire Red, especially editing the trainer sprites. I downloaded NSE (the latest version I can find) and when I load the ROM, I click on trainer sprites, then this comes up:

    Unhandled exception has occured in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately.

    An attempt was made to move the file pointer before the beginning of the file.

    See the end of this message for details on invoking
    just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

    ************** JIT Debugging **************
    To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
    application or computer (machine.config) must have the
    jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
    The application must also be compiled with debugging
    enabled.

    For example:

    <configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
    </configuration>

    When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
    will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
    rather than be handled by this dialog box.

    This baffles me so much, I don't know what to do. I click Continue, but nothing happens. I can't edit the Trainer Sprites like I thought I would. Can anyone please tell me what the problem is? I would realy appreciate it a lot! Thanks!

    My apologies, I did say that I downloaded the latest version. Anyways, I downloaded the NSE 2.1 Beta from the link you gave me, ran the program, chose the Fire Red ROM, chose Trainer Sprites, and it's still coming up with the same error that I've mentioned before.

    I'm really confused. How can NSE work for some people, but not me?

    Maybe the problem is with the rom, have you tried running the original clean rom?

    This is an original clean ROM. Should I download another Fire Red ROM to be sure, because the ROM I have now hasn't been hacked or anything.

    My apologies then, but it would be better if you did download another fire red rom, i'd recommend version 1.0, just to make sure of course.

    Thank you. Perhaps you can leave a link to the Fire Red Rom you got, cause I fear that I might download the same ROM from a different website, if it's not much trouble.

    You can just google it, don't worry! Also, have you tried running the program as administrator?

    Okay, I found a Fire Red ROM version 1.0 like you said, downloaded it and tried it again, and it works! I didn't have to run it as an administrator. It was the ROM version, not the NSE. Thank you so much for helping me!
