Help recruiting groudon@

Yes, I know Blue and Red Rescue are old news, but I've been playing it to recruit every pokemon. My problem is....well....groudon is not joining my team. The factors for me are:

-I'm a lvl 49 blastoise (started as a charmander)

-I am holding the friend bow

-I am the only one on my team (I brought charizard and articuno with me, and I farewell them right before groudon. Should I have a bigger team? Or a smaller one?)

-I know water gun, ice beam, bite, & dive (don't think this matters)

I've tried about 25 times, and he hasn't joined any of the times. What am I doing wrong? Usually I take him out with 4 ice beams, but should I try the 'walk around the room' technique? is he more likely to join you if the battle is longer, or shorter? If someonen who knows these statistics/has advice please tell me!

I used to have Red Rescue Team. I never recruited Groudon, but as far as I know, you should just keep trying because I'm pretty sure a longer battle doesn't make it more likely for you to recruit a pokemon. I know how frustrated you feel because I've tried 16 times to get Deoxys in MD2 with no luck. Keep trying, and I'm sure you'll recruit it eventually.

PART OF THE RECRUITMENT FACTOR IS LUCK. IT WONT EVEN MATTER IF YOU BATTLE HIM 100 TIMES BECAUSE YOU ALSO NEED TO HAVE LUCK

it just basicaly luck

u could recrit him first time or recruit him 50th time

Yeah. I got really lucky in MD2 against Deoxys. Got him first time.

Actually you have to throw groudon's favourite gummi then let the main character beat groudon.
