Suggestion: Help Section in C&T?

Does anyone else think that having a help subforum of some sort would benefit the Computer and Technology forum?
There would be enough activity in there and it could help the entire section gain more activity by not having discussion threads get lost in amongst the question threads.

Yeah I agree. Its a pretty good idea, i used to have just one thread that i kept updating with each one but yeah it would be nice to have a subforum or something.

Oh. I thought C&T was a help forum. People just post their problems as a single thread so lol. But I guess it couldn't hurt to have a help subforum.

But really that's up to the mod(s) there. If they don't have a problem with how it is, no need to worry.

Yeah, I was thinking more along the lines of what Pachy said. It's just full of discussion threads and help threads, when I look at it anyway. But I mean, it's not like it's in dire need of a help subforum, but to unclutter it and separate problems from discussions would be nice. But I rarely go in there, so~

I think we should just have stricter moderation in terms of the threads. People will post topics for help. Easiest thing is to make a new sticky for computer help and possibly merge it with the router and wifi help.

We should also ditch a few of the stickies. We have quite a few.

C&T is mostly comprised of people looking for help. I don't see why you'd take out a percentage of a not extremely active section to make a sub forum anyway.

I always thought C&T was like a technical help forum anyway. What Gavin said about taking that out of a not-so-active forum as it is and putting it into a sub-forum is how I feel about it. I don't think this would pass because of that. Maybe if C&T was more active and had more than that being an overwhelming majority of discussion. But there's not much of a difference between the technical discussion threads and the technical help threads that are posted there to warrant a sub-forum dedicated, you know?

Whatever you do, don't make a generic help sticky thread. They're the most annoying and useless things, since questions go unanswered and ignored far more often that way.


Wasn't C&T split at its beginning? I seem to think we had a Discussion & a Help section, back when me and JA modded it.

I feel as if it's virtually unneeded. Computers and Technology can be used for help threads because the rules don't prevent against it, and I think that twocows is fine with having help threads in that section.
