So, on my old computer, I used to have a program that by some mystery could convert .avi files and burn them to a disk.

Now, I can't, for the life of me, figure out how the hell to get my videos/movies/anime numesludge on to a DVD.
I got a bulk pack of 100 DVD+R's at Target last week for 20 bucks, since it was on sale, and they're just gathering dust.

So, if someone could please explain for me (Preferably in idiot terms, so I can keep up) what the hell I need to do to get .avi files on a disk, ready to be viewed on my TV, I'd be pretty thankful.

firstly, what DVD burning software are you using? If you tell me that, then I might be able to help from there. and also, since you specified that you have dvd+rs, are you sure that your DVD writer supports them?

I figured out what the problem was.
My DVD writer/computer/drive/etc are all fine.
I just needed a program to convert AVI -> MPEG

However...The only programs I can find for free leave a watermark in the center of the video once converted. =/

    So my new question-
Does anyone know of a free program which I can convert AVI files with?
Or atleast a trial version of something that doesn't leave that damned water mark?

Get VSO ConvertXtoDVD. Works wonders. Just add any video file and it converts it to DVD format and burns it to a DVD afterwards. Piece of cake.

    Uh...
I need a software that doesn't add the watermark.
So, I either need a trial version of a program that doesn't add a watermark, or just a free video converting program.
    =/
    Thanks though
Get the registered software. Not hard...

When you're a student a fulltime student, living on your own, paying bills and paying for your own gas food and clothes; a cd burning program isn't at the top of your list of things to purchase >__>
So yes, it can be that hard.

Anywho, found my self one that worked fine.
Mods can lock this since it's been resolved, I suppose.
