4th Gen Help with FC and online.

    First of all, I apologize if this is covered in a stickied topic or the FAQ (I did look and search for about 30 minutes, and I couldn't find an answer to my question).

    I'm sort of confused about the FC and about online. I've played Pokemon since I was 8 years old, and I stopped playing after beating FireRed, so I've never played Diamond, Pearl, or Platinum. Since I've never played those games, I'm confused about how online works. I did find some info on how to get started, such as getting the Pal Pad.

    If I see someone's FC, do I just add them and they'll get a request or something? Or do they have to add mine as well? How do I trade with them? I have Pokemon HeartGold, so if anyone could take a few minutes out of their day and answer some questions for me? I'd prefer someone add my FC and talk with their mic to me, to save some time. Also, if you could tell me how I talk with you, that would be great as well =]

    You register the other persons Friend Code upon request. So before you trade register the friend code, then go back to the Pokemon Center Basement were you registered your friend code at and you will find the other person waiting there or vice versa depending on who gets there first. If you wish to conduct a trade I advice trying here Quick Trade Thread since I assume you will be doing small trades for awhile.
     
    He said he was playing HG, so he doesn't need to go to the basement, the trade center is in the poke center upstairs, he would have to register their fc and have them register his, go upstairs and talk to the middle lady to get in the wifi and then either he except the trade or do the invite for the trade, Hope that helps!!

    In HG, you'd still go downstairs. Upstairs is just for Union stuff.
     
    I'm retarded and have too many games, you need to go upstairs it B/W, sorry for the mis-info!!
     
    Answred so going to close. If you have any other questions, ask them in the Help thread sticky at the top of the section, please.

    And with the mic, you can switch it on or off when you're waiting to connect with somone to trade, but they also have to have the option on, I believe (but it's not needed if you organise what you want to trade beforehand ie on the forums).
