4th Gen Help with finding a fire stone.

    Hello Pokecommunity. First Thread here. So Ive been playing Heart Gold and rather enjoying it, but I have came across a rather unexpected problem. I think Growlithes are rather weak pokemon compared to their evolved form, Arcanine but i can't seem to get a fire stone anywhere. Apparentley you have to beat the elite four before getting one and i want it before I fight them. Any suggestions on how to get it? Any help would come in handy.


    PS: Im also having the same problem with getting a Metal Coat for an onix.
     
    you can get a metal coat at the pokeathelon before E4, I got mine there.
    same with firestone i think.

    You can also win one in the bug catching contest.
     
    You can find a Fire Stone either from the Pokéathlon or you can come in first and be lucky enough to get the Fire Stone at the Bug Catching Competition. As for the Metal Coat you can obtain one from either the Pokéathlon or wait till you get to the SS Anne and get one there.
