Well, first all of, post your Pokemon like this:

Pokemon Gender (Optional) @ Item ** Nickname (Optional)
    Trait:
    EV's:
    ? Nature (+? -?)
    - Move # 1
    - Move # 2
    - Move # 3
    - Move # 4.

Secondly, you need some help on the Natures. On Raichu.. Never lower speed on any Sweeper. Timid please.

As said for Raichu, use timid for Ninetales.

Absol is a bit different, it runs Adamant/Jolly.

    Gallade would run Adamant.

Lapras, unlike the other Special Sweepers stated above, wants Modest. It speed is a bit... But if you're wanting running a Trick Room Team, you'd want Quiet...

And finally, Aerodactyl, like Absol, is a bit different. It runs Adamant/Jolly also.

yeah its the natures that get me! never realised that they had such an impact before.

cheers for the advice, just looking through some of the other teams/movesets here and picking up some tips. It turns it into a whole different game once you start looking into competative battling!

do you think i've got too many of a certain type of sweeper?

Ninetailes, Lapras, and Raichu are all Special Sweepers. At max, you would want to run two. Just take one out. And your Team is all Sweepers... Walls..

We don't care about your pokemons levels or stats. WiFi automatically sets the levels to 100 and EVs give a more accurate understanding.

Your team is too sweeper oriented, maybe some more walls would help. A physical wall and a special wall does nicely

im going to get rid of the ninetales, that was there originally for a novelty i suppose.

i'll have a look through what i've got, what i can breed and try to come up with some kind of wall. the aerodactyl may have to go as well.

my idea for the lapras was to use it as a sort of annoyer tank
the gallade was aiming to be a physical sweeper
    raichu special/physical sweeper
the absol was there as a kind of staller that i could use perish song with if i came accross anything that cause problems (theres another thing, are moves like perish song acceptable in battling?)

    Absol can't stall ._.;

Also, Perish Song and Baton Pass have no use in Absol's moveset. Absol will get KO'd before it gets a chance to use Perish Song, and even if it does, the plan is ruined by a simple switch-in. Baton Pass has nothing to pass O_O

well i was planning that sort of idea for absol, but i know now that it wouldnt work, he was from when i used that idea with him in the game. was just sort of experimenting with him. looking through other threads for tips and ideas for replacements for the ninetales absol and aerodactyl. i dont want to use pokemon and teams that everyone else does, so im experimenting and trying out a few things.

    cheers for the advice :)

Hmmm, well for one, do you have a full understanding of EVs? Also, Your team is built like this when the roles are properly filled

    Ninetales-Special Sweeper
    Absol-Physical Sweeper
    Raichu-Special Sweeper
    Gallade-Physical Sweeper
    Lapras-Special Tank
    Aerodactyl-Physical Sweeper

Now, this is a fail team. Remove Raichu/Ninetales for a Special Wall, and Aerodactyl and/or Gallade and/or Absol for a physical wall and probably a physical tank, rapid spinner, aromatherapist, baton passer, etc.

i've got a vague understanding of EV's, but what i dont get is when people say their pokemons EV, they only put three of them for example. is this because they havent trained them in these areas so dont bother putting them?

as an example, am i right in thinking special walls would have high ev's in HP, Spc.def and then would it be spc.atk?

It depends on there stats, like if you look at Dusknoir and Bronzong, both are capable scpeial and mixed walls, and both usually use physical moves. EVs are receieved whenever a Pokemon defeats another Pokemon, and every Pokemon gives out a type and number of EVs, like Zubat gives out 1 speed EV, and Crobat gives out 3 speed EVs. Each Pokemon can have a max of 252 EVs in each stat, and then that stat power gets increased. So if you wanted to have a good physical sweeper, a common EV set is 252 Attack, 252 Speed, 4 hp.

yeah been looking at some guides. so 510 is the maximum you can use, and certain berries lower them so that you can boost the stats you want? and also vitamins can be used, but only a certain amount. i've got a guide book here so im going to read up on it and completely devise a new team from scratch i think. i've always just levelled up and got through the games in previous generations as i've never had anyone to battle with! but now with wi-fi and also battle revolution there's plenty of oppurtunities. it really is a different game once you start looking deeper into the battle mechanics! seems fun though and im going to give it a go. thanks for all your advice, i'll post up new ideas for teams and sets etc, see what you think...

ITachi, lapras can't sweep. and when it does it's a PHYSICAL sweeper...waterfall + DD...

Though Penguin, absol can switch into something like celebi (which has no business staying in on absol), set a persish song up after they switch in, and beat it. erish is great for beating the likes of curselax and CalmCune :P But yeah, nothing to BP...hmm...

The biggest problem with this team is that nothing can switch into choice specs/band attackers to save their lives. Walls are needed ASAP.
