1st Gen help with pokemon red?

    so , my friend and i are planing to have a fight between our teams on pokemon red, however, he has the game on his gameboy color and i have it on my 3ds, is there a way to connect them?;-;
     
    You have more chance of connecting your 3ds to a block of cheddar cheese I'm afraid.
     
    wow.... so do i put the gb version on the cheddar and then connect the 3ds to it?
     
    You're sol. The only way you can possibly battle each other is to either A: You buy a gameboy and a cartridge or B: He buy's a 3ds/2ds and one of the originals. There's really no other options.
